In my last setup, before I bought the WiiM Ultra, I used Musicbee to rip my CD's, organize and handle my music library.

I have a few albums, f. Ex this soundtrack album, where there are a lot of different artist on them.

When you look through the albums on the WiiM app, the album appears several times.

Does any of you have this issue and, if so, how did you resolve it?

What sorting did you pick and - maybe more importantly - did you recently re-index the library from within the WiiM Home app?

I only have one or two albums with the Various Artists albumartist tag, e.g. the OST of Garden State. The album shows only once for me in Album view:

Not certain if this will help at all but MusicBrainz Picard is a very helpful free tool to make sure that digital music is tagged well.

Most of my Compilation albums are in a Folder titled "Compilations".
Edit: With sub folders tilted per the the album title.

In MusicBee, select the entire album
Right click and select edit
In the album artist field enter "Various Artists"
Clear the entries in the composer field(s)
Click save

Hope this helps.

That's really all it takes.

While there are many good apps for tagging out there, MusicBee is certainly more than fit for the job. (y)

I don't think I missed anything, but I may have.
I learned through trial and error to correct the appearance of albums and tracks in MusicBee itself and the Musicolet app on my phone. This was before WiiM was part of the picture.

Populating the AlbumArtist tag was one of the first things we tested in the other thread as that seems the obvious fix, but having looked in the database it wasn't even being indexed.

I have to assume you're on different devices/firmware/apps as it wasn't an isolated incident, and WiiM have acknowledged the problem.

The above screenshot is from my WiiM Utra running the current Googlecast 1.36 firmware (but otherwise standard) variant. I could have taken it from my WiiM Amp Pro, running the current stock firmware (5.2.707244). WiiM Home app version is 3.1.3.250215.b01ccd. 🤷‍♂️

I'd have to take a look into files.db for closer inspection. Didn't take the time yet, since it looks OK to me. Maybe tomorrow ...
