Understood now. Technically, it makes no difference, the HDMI cable would always send your PC's desktop video to the TV anyway. Even if you blank the screen, audio will be send the same way through the HDMI cable.ps. I referred to concerts instead of just saying A/V content because it was the best example for my use case and avoided confusion when referencing audio vs visual or both.
Setting up HDMI ARC and CEC can be a compatibility nightmare at times. If you can live with the optical connection, this is really your safe bet. It just works (once it is enabled

- First, you must set up your TV to support HDMI CEC (Settings => Channels & Inputs => Inputs => HDMI control).
- You probably have to actively select the WiiM Ultra as your "speakers" to make it work as intended (Settings => Display & Sound => Audio Output => Audio Output Selection). It might not appear as "WiiM" in the list, but just under a generic term like "External Sound System" or something similar.
- As has been said before, only one of the HDMI ports is marked for ARC/eARC. You must use this exact port and eARC must be disabled (Settings => Display & Sound => Audio Output => eARC).
- The WiiM Ultra does support 5.1 Dolby Digital, but not Dolby Digital Plus. DD+ must be disabled (Settings => Display & Sound => Audio Output => Digital Audio Out). For a stereo setup select PCM instead.
