Unfortunately WiiM doesn't react on tickets from inside their app anymore, so I try it here:

As the thread title says, long album titles on Home Music Shares are not shown completely, which makes it really hard often to distinguish different album version. The album title is just cut off at the end of the line instead of continuing in another line.

You might say, this is a rare problem, but I have to say it is not. I have quite a large collection and often various releases of the same album. It is a problem I face basically every day.

The Foobar2000 app is a good example of how to make it better. I have added 2 screenshots of the view in the WiiM app compared to how it looks in Foobar2000.

I would really appreciate if WiiM concentrated on making the app how it is work flawlessly, instead of adding new features all the time.

I agree with you but I think relying on the WiiM app for navigating local music is never going to be ideal particularly with a large library. Just using the WiiM players as endpoints for a proper music server is always going to be a better experience IMHO.
Ah, my mistake. I wasn't clear. I meant local as local here coming from my server. Navigation basically works great even with 40.000+ songs coming from foobar2000. No issue there.

Ah OK. I never use the WiiM app at all for local music. I navigate using LMS and Material Skin on my phone. Material Skin actually has a similar issue where long titles are not completely visible. I can work around it by turning my phone in landscape mode to see the full title 😃

Did this ever get sorted? It seems unbelievable to me. Every time the app is updated I hope for a fix but still can’t see anything on the settings.

Is it possible to use a third party app instead of the WiiM one? If so can someone please recommend one that is easy to configure?

If you're looking for a UPnP control point on Android, try BubbleUPnP as it wraps long album titles in list view (truncated in grid view).

Thanks. I have an iPhone. That app doesn’t seem to be available.

Such a basic thing, I’m amazed Wiim haven’t addressed it and there isn’t more demand for it!

I really dislike BubbleUPnP and I ultimately hate that it exits without a warning when you press the "back" button.

WiiM should do their homework, not implement new stuff all the time, but make the existing features work properly.

Yes, there seems to be no demand for it. I think I gave good examples for why the existing solution is unusable. Like it is, WiiM is good if you only use streaming services, but it's pretty bad when it comes to music on a media server.

That's how Android gestures work. Swiping from the Library tab doesn't exit the app, so maybe the behaviour of the other tabs could be aligned. Have you contacted the dev?

What don't you like about BubbleUPnP? Hi-Fi Cast is ok, but nothing else is even close.

EDIT: Just re-read your post and you said the back button, not gestures. I'll have a look.
The old approach works the same way, so maybe you should contact the dev if it bothers you.

Try the mconnect app on iOS and see if that handles them.

Depends on the sizing of the screen? LMS on the PC works fine, as it has enough text letters space, but on the phone it doesn't in portrait, but fine in landscape.

On my iphone, the Wiim app doesn't work in landscape, unless there is some setting I am not seeing!

yeah. Just talking of another music control app.

Do you have a tablet? Try that, with bigger screen, you'll have more space...so for classical albums (which are really long) should display

Thanks, no I don't have a tablet. I hate it as it is, listening to music with a phone in my hand! (Which is why I usually listen to records...)

Example of phone lms
landscape useless for scrolling due to lack of height. But width does show whole album

How odd that it doesn't work on my iPhone. I have checked that it's not locked in portrait but still it doesn't work. It doe for virtually every other app.
