Unfortunately WiiM doesn't react on tickets from inside their app anymore, so I try it here:

As the thread title says, long album titles on Home Music Shares are not shown completely, which makes it really hard often to distinguish different album version. The album title is just cut off at the end of the line instead of continuing in another line.

You might say, this is a rare problem, but I have to say it is not. I have quite a large collection and often various releases of the same album. It is a problem I face basically every day.

The Foobar2000 app is a good example of how to make it better. I have added 2 screenshots of the view in the WiiM app compared to how it looks in Foobar2000.

I would really appreciate if WiiM concentrated on making the app how it is work flawlessly, instead of adding new features all the time.

Amazed how many people are so defensive of Wiim! All they have to do is give the same functionality as virtually every other music app on the planet!

If virtually every other music app on the planet does it right, why don't you use it? Nobody forces you to use the WiiM Home app except for setting up and configuring your device. I really mean it. When playing music from your own home music share you have all the options.

Some people bother about this topic, others do not. This has nothing to do with being defensive of WiiM.

I did upvote this feature request because, why not? I just don't see a reason fro bashing WiiM here because in my own experience the correct (?) display of infinitely long titles is neither trivial nor the norm.

The effort you have put into replying rather proves my point!

I am not bashing Wiim - just supporting other peoples call for a simple update. And we are not talking about "infinitely long titles". I believe it truncates them after 22 characters. Just scrolling through my list of music, the majority are longer than that.

I bought the Wiim because I just wanted a fit and forget setup with the device and matching app - I'm not technically minded at all.

As far as I'm aware, there aren't many options for other apps that can be used with the Wiim. I really would appreciate if someone could point me to something even a numpty like me could use. I paid up for the mconnect app but it is flakey as heck, constantly dropping the connection. Foobar is unbelievably complex.

I just use the wiim app to setup the device, run room EQ etc.

For my music playback I use LMS app on the phone, or use it through IP control.
Picoreplayer installed on my pi5.
LMS installed ontop of picoreplayer

Works really well.
