Poll: Ultra with external DAC

Have you already tried your WiiM Ultra with an external DAC?

Sounds to me that you are unable to imagine perspectives other than your own.
Let me give you an example: I need to be able to use test signals directly from the REW generator on the WiiM Pro. My PC has no toslink output. Which kind of the DDC I can use to fulfill my expectations?
That's a valid case of cause. The discussion was why to add a DDC and DAC to the WiiM Ultra.

I know this is the eternal discussion. I have been there since the 1970's and have worked in the field since.

Yup, you use REW for more complex things than I do 😃
In essence, sweeps are necessarily much more informative than "fixed" measurements..... just, they not allow for "cookie-cutter" classifications ;-)
(multitone is very effective, more complete, and easy, in sweep than rew......M-T for this kind of thing a nice software....rapidly evolving and very well supported by Pkane, its creator)
you need ddc etc ;-)

I recognise that name, he also has DeltaWave Null Comparison software.

example of limit (and the subject is fundamental because all the measures have their limits because simplifying, in audio in a very important way) of an approach without sweep...
the plus in these first versions had a design defect... an anormal level of distortion in the bass... but a sinad at just 1khz well.....
super for the classification """ asr""" ;-)..
"the measure" is in fact a form of blindness...

fortunately it was fixed afterwards... ;-)

As far as I can gather, 'jitter' seems to be a problem that exists in the mind of audiophiles who are more interested in their gear than in listening to music. If that sort of thing turns you on, that's fine by me.

In the real world, forget about it. It's completely inaudible.

Do you have a prove of its inaudibility?

It’s not worth arguing. These are the same people who think that SINAD (a single node in a complex NxM performance matrix) says it all.

Could you please show audible distortion from the Wiim Ultra and pro Plus?

It’s not about THD or IM or noise. Those are just singular values. There’s a lot more to audio reproduction.

No answer(s) to my question. I shouldn’t be surprised of course.
for 95% of things listened to around the world , by 96% of people... reassure you..it won't be heard....
sure
;-)
there is a simple .....what you are listening to, honestly, supports compression with losses... or not...
that is the big unsaid thing about all these subjects..."audible"

"and you??"
;-)
