Powering WiiM Pro Plus with a power bank

Swing and a miss. Rob Watts had a lot more to say then the limited offering you posted just last year.

To my repeated point, despite the denialists:
"For low power DAC amps Li ion batteries are also ideal"
Any PSU needs to be compared against battery operation - if the SMPS sounds identical to a car battery..."

That's a Wrap.
I won!

(I'm sure we're going to see denialists chop up the word "ideal" into numerous parts and mock it as well.)

Nobody said batteries didn't make good power supplies. They just aren't necessarily beneficial. Like Rob Watts says, Chord DACs work perfectly well with SMPS.

You are not only a comedian, have no technical insight/knowledge of the topics discusses but now also claim a victory. That seems pretty narcissistic to me, but what do I know right?

Does a power bank or something else make a difference? It may, depending on various factors. And yes power supplies are important for quality audio playback.

These threads go on and on like a bunch of kids fighting on the playground. The OP made a statement reporting a change. Try it… like it? fine, otherwise move on.

If your equipment can't cope with noise from the power supply (which always happens 100%) or noise from a network connection (always happens 100%) its been poorly designed and should not be sold, full stop. There are EMI standards that proper electronics have to pass. Its as if some people here think we are in the 1940's
Buy gear thats at least been competently engineered.
Don't buy stuff that makes you jump through unmeasurable snake oil hoops to attain a descent noise floor
And running from batteries nearly always uses more noisy switching circuits anyway
Hubris from the ignorant, sorry

The victory is mine. The victory for others with very good audio systems will be theirs, to all the battery-powered low-investment followers.

As seen, the technical knowledge has been provided, published and shared. No matter what you do, you can't stop us now!
To those who love better audio, follow meeeeee! 🤩

I guess in your reality the earth is flat and the moon is made of cheese.
Geezzz please stop with the childish posts. You can disagree with a post or an opinion but just stop with childish attacks on members. Thanks! This is getting ridiculous.

Hmm lots of talk about Chord here. just looked at measurements of a $14K Chord DAC. Sorry, anyone who pays $14K for this thing is a damned fool. Its engineer isn't a very good at engineering. I wouldn't listen to a thing he says, honestly.

So, how can you prove that your system is superior? 🤔🙂

Well, don't exaggerate. Any device is a compromise, whether it's price or size. Anyway, I was thinking about an external DAC for the Pro Plus. After installing the LPS, I was convinced of how great the DAC inside is. The asking price is €60.

Here I offered to give it a try to everyone who wanted to.

And if you have claims, back it up with measurements, not some voodoo
Asked and answered.

Who said superior? I've offered lots of data and industry references in audio to aid others who wish to consider trying some quite inexpensive changes in their systems for the better.

It's been received with some denialists who claim to have superior knowledge but lack any foundation versus the citations I offered.
Hilarious and typical. Only one person pointed to not being able to hear any change with switches. The rest failed to even offer that.

All I presented was documentation and tests with my own experience trying used, inexpensive Cisco Meraki routers (with removed internal power supply) and a TalentCell device battery powering a WiiM Pro so others may consider a similar experiment in audio system. The huffing and puffing has been comical.

Give it up, Fletch. 😂

Really? You want to start this again?

No. Why undercut victory? I shall do no such thing!

Happy Thanksgiving and to all with Cisco Meraki and a battery-powered WiiM a good nite.

Who said superior?

You said in #90:
Rather than arguing in a state of denial, it's better for those with very good or better systems to try and find out for themselves. That's the entire point here in sharing the WiiM experience.

Having read this and your earlier post, I understood it to implicitly suggest that your system is superior. Naturally, the word 'superior' wasn't used, but I think it conveys the same meaning.

I'm not taking sides, nor do I intend to argue, but your comment simply struck me as a little odd. My apologies if my understanding is mistaken. 🙂

It is also implied that if you can't hear the difference then your system isn't resolving enough which is generally the way these things go 🤣
