Qobuz Qobuz Club - Qobuz Connect Beta preview

Hey guys excuse my ignorance and late question to this thread. Would I need Qobuz connect when I can log in to my Qobuz account directly on my WiiM Amp? I’m streaming so far with no issues. Why would one need Qobuz connect if it’s all ready integrated? I’ve been on Apple Music for years and am now currently trying other services and features with my WiiM amp. Thanks

Third party access thru apps like the WiiM Home app often, if not always, offer fewer features than the streaming service native app.

And that's absolutely true in the case of WHA vs Qobuz mobile app. There's a lot of functionality in the latter that simply isn't available in the former.

Personally I don't like the WiiM App at all as it's' not user friendly, the native Apps for Amazon, Tidal and Qobuz are all much better and easier to use in my opinon.

Yeah, and that's why I don't think it's reasonable for the WiiM app to be the all-singing, all-dancing app that some users expect it to be. I tend to use the native apps, LMS or BubbleUPnP to play to my WiiM devices and seldom use the WiiM app for that

They should not focus too much on that because native app still better. Their time could better spent on different features.

As long as Qobuz fail to get their Connect solution up and running, Qobuz integration into WHA provides a certain benefit, I think.

Are people not using Qobuz due to the lack the connect feature?
I would put it this way: WiiM enables them to use Qobuz with the highest quality through WHA integration.

PS:
I also prefer Tidal simply for their attractive pricing, broad catalogue, very good Windows app and - drumroll - Tidal Connect.

No, I use Qobuz thru LMS to play to my WiiM devices as that’s where most of my other services are.

Edit: I occasionally use the Qobuz app and Chromecast which delivers up to 24/96, albeit not gapless which I don’t miss much.

I’m just gauging everyone’s opinion. My way of getting high quality streaming (or so I thought) was through my Apple TV in my living room or go hi res in my bedroom recording studio with my Mac mini and converters. But I enjoy my living room setup and wanted hi res there. Apple Music hi res isn’t offered on Apple TV. I’ve setup Qobuz on my WiiM amp in my living room and it sound phenomenal. Even when I a/b my Apple Music through the hdmi arc (24/48) vs the Qobuz 16/44.4 directly integrated on the WiiM amp it sounds so much better. I really think any audio passing through my hdmi arc gets compressed a bit. Just my opinion.

Yes ... certainly me and I'm sure I'm not alone.

I use tidal why? Tidal connect and if you’re paying on par of each other why pay on lacking in features.

I keep trying with Tidal, I was about to switch to it and thought I'd test it again using a laptop. It's very flaky as to whether it sees the WiiMs to use Tidal Connect or not, sometimes it shows nothing ..... give it a while and it shows connecting to Chromecast on the WiiMs .... the Tidal Connect to WiiMs just seems to show up when t feeks like it .... and somethimes it doesn't.

If they could get this right I'd definitely go with them.

That's great .... but the WHA is horrible to use.

At least I like WHA's Qobuz. WHA is easier to use than the native app's Chromecast.

Or more accurately, I should say WHA was good enough for me. One of the reasons is that I don't have to go back and forth between multiple apps. I use WHA device cards frequently, so being able to control music playback on WHA makes sense.

With WHA Qobuz, I can add the track playing to my favorites, and I can also add a cue, which is a no-brainer for me.

However, after using Qobuz for a month, I decided to go back to Spotify. Qobuz is not bad, but Spotify was the app that gave me the most stress-free and comfortable music experience 😄

My concepts of "horrible" and "not user friendly" have been honed by the apps from Yamaha, Onkyo/Pioneer, and others.

WHA is pure gold in comparison.

Ahhh ... OK, I've not tried those and everything is relative (y)

What streaming service do you use and have you tried their App or are you just playing locally stored music?
