In my case (Android phone) I can't simply stop the music in the Q app because it keeps playing since the queued songs are still "alive" in WHA (no communication between the two??)

Instead of no communication at all..i now think there is a (quite long..) time lag between the command (erase queue) given to the Q app and the corresponding command received and applied by WHA

My only complaint about Qobuz Connect is it disconnects from my WiiM Pro Plus after non-use of the Qobuz app on an iPad, even with the app left open. I have an old iPad whose sole purpose is to control the Pro Plus. This issue might be an iPad issue and not a Connect issue. The WiiM app stays connected even with the iPad cover closed. Advice appreciated.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this has always bee the way Spotify Connect works.

From what I tried some time ago (admittedly on Android) I came to the conclusion that this is not just related to the device's power management, but by design. Qobuz might just follow the same route.

I could be completely wrong, though.

Sounds just like tidal connect which disconnects after 10 - 15 mins or so after pausing or stopping the music.

I never understood the importance of this feature for such a lot people. But may be it has to do with the playlist generation
It is a nice-to-have, ok. But reading about the "issues" would make me think (again): Why?
Get a reasonable third party app/software like Roon, JPLAY or, for the brave, LMS. As always, YMMV

Have to say that after going to the trouble of getting v. 9.0.0.0 installed, I also am wondering what this is all about. I appreciate it is not "casting" from the phone or tablet to the device but simply controlling the streaming directly to the WiiM device, which allows for higher quality. But the WiiM app does the same thing, as does LMS. I also find the Q Connect app needs an extra step to get to the volume control and seems to be missing the option to add material to the active play queue.

So, while I'm pleased that I figured out how to try Connect, after using it for a day I don't understand what the fuss was all about. The WiiM App seems far superior. I haven't found a single advantage to the Connect app. What am I missing?

More flexible maybe. QC works even from the browser via the web app.

Connect is a feature that allows you to control the playback of your music on one or more devices, not only WiiM devices. E.g. also in your car. You can continue playing your music in you car after leaving the house.
If you visit a friend you can stream your music from Qobuz to his device without any problem, if of course the device supports Qobuz Connect.
The main benefit for me is, that I can continue where I stopped when I'm changing the device.

I like QC over the WiiM Home App because I like to share new song/album discoveries with friends and family. If I'm in the Qobuz app already because of Qobuz Connect, there's a very convenient share function, but with WiiM Home App, my only two options are take a screenshot of it and send that (which is highly inconvenient to my friends who then need to go search it up themselves) or launch Qobuz up, find it, then share it.

Exactly. Unlike the apps, it’s possible to write chrome extensions to customize the web app to add features such as AI integration.

For example, there are many albums on Qobuz with no reviews at all, and there are no links to external reviews. With a Chrome extension and Gemini AI, we can add both...
