Record Deck to HomePods?

I would like to play from my record deck to Apple HomePod speakers. - My wife doesn’t want too many speakers in the room!

I have connected a Record Deck to a WiiM mini, and successfully picked this up in the WiiM Home app. I have also added the WiiM mini to the Apple Home app.

However, I cannot see any option to enable me to output a record to my Apple speakers? ChatGPT and CoPilot are telling me this should be possible…. Alas, it’s not working. I have trawled the WiiM app, and can’t find any way to port the sound to HomePods.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to proceed, or know of any alternative method to achieve the above? I have spent a long time struggling with this!

Thank you in advance for all help.

You can’t: while some WiiM devices are airplay receivers, none are airplay transmitters (although briefly for a period a year or so back they could). Another example of AI ignoring context and timeframe, adding 2 and 2 and getting the totally wrong answer….

I feel this was answered on Reddit a day or so back too: https://www.reddit.com/r/WiimStreamer/s/jr0JjPHprc

Edit: also not aware of any practical alternative method

Thank you Burnside for responding. So much for ChtGPT and Copilot! I did try a search, but was unable to find the link you provided. Thank you again.

Are you aware of any other method to output from a record deck to HomePods? I understand it is not possible via Bluetooth either…

No. Again, you’d need an airplay transmitter of sorts and I’m not aware of a device that you could connect a turntable to that could do that.

I do vaguely recall it being said there was a turntable that claimed to use airplay but it turned out to be a rather convoluted way of playing a custom url on your phone and airplaying the phone’s audio to airplay targets - it didn’t sound a feasible way to achieve the sort of result required.

Apple’s walled garden yet again - they don’t facilitate non-Apple mixed solutions I’m afraid.
