Good news...However mqa masterings solved the problem of dac overshoot and you could have the volume fixed to 100% no eq so bit perfect. Most dacs benefit from -3db lower signal according to the below source. Could we have a button in wiim mini to do this? Someone suggested in the comment section that the only way to do this is to custom eq all frequencies - 3db instead of just lowering the volume.

Lower the digital volume to get a considerable amount of headroom, just before the step which can exceed the digital level limit due to any involved processing - ie. EQing, interpolation, oversampling, ASRC. There is no magic '3 dB' number.

Thanks. Do you have any idea of the db volume steps of the digital volume in wiim? I understand that it does not have to be exactly 3db but I do not want to reduce volume "too much"

It's not linear, but lowering by 10% will approximately attenuate by a bit more than 3 dB.

It does not allow me to enter the link with my wiim’s ip. Certificates are not trusted etc and I cannot access it . Is this at 90% or near if you can try it ?

I’m using the Tidal beta but still not getting the 24/196 on theses flac files. Only getting 24/96. I set it to 24/196 maxs but still limited to 24/96. Wondering if any other beta tester are receiving the full 24/196?

Again, and to keep it simple. This Fleetwood Mac album is not available in 192! All hi res streaming versions are offered up to 96.
Even if your stuff is able to reproduce up to 768 it will show 96.
It is a good sign that your DAC shows the correct digits, not that what you want it to show.

Try "Tango in the Night", from Fleetwood Mac. In Qobuz it is 192. So it should be in the highest Tidal tier also.
