Roomfit control in smart presets

Is it possible to get the option to default roomfit on or off in presets - apparently the ultra has this feature (as announced in a recent firmware update) - but not my pro plus and my WiiM
amp.

It is annoying to go in and disable and enable it every time I use headphones!

I basically just leave it off now and use EQ only settings to tune my speakers and headphone because at least that option exists - but that is unfortunate - roomfit is a key feature to me! I am not upgrading to an ultra either - not until you fix Apple Music connectivity!

The Ultra don't have RoomFit settings in the Presets but when using headphones output RoomFit is always off.

If you use other outputs for headphones it's still an issue on the Ultra also.

Thanks for clarifying - I knew there was something related but since I can’t test it I wasn’t sure!

We definitely need the ability to control Pe1 and roomfit in presets. Otherwise I am forced to disable roomfit and/or relay on my preamp DAC to do the heavy lifting of my phono and cd and headphone sourcing and the wiom just gets relegated to a streamer.

Why would you want/need different RoomFit profiles based on selected Input? Or are you really complaining only about the desire for separate PEQ profiles for your selected Inputs?

Yes. I was wondering that too. RoomFit is not EQ. It's has completely other purpose related to the output if anything.

Its simple.. I don’t necessarily need a different profile - but I do need to setup presets to choose between headphone vs speaker use.

My WiiM feeds into my preamp where my headphones connect and my preamp to main amp and then my speakers.

So whenever I use headphones I need to be able to disable roomfit, change EQ to PEQ, and if using my family room will amp turn sub off (fortunately my sub and high pass filter in my media room is on my preamp). Way too many steps.

Additionally my custom headphone EQ profile is saved in PEQ which also can’t be chosen from presets.

For now I just disabled roomfit completely and am not using EQ or PEQ either. But it would be nice to dial in my speakers vs my headphones and switch without a science project.

I hope WiiM addresses this. Just need two more preset settings options - one to disable roomfit and then expand eq selection to choose peq.

I thought Smart Presets did include PEQ. I don't know if that applies to all WiiM devices.

Nope… was playing with both devices today. Only eq choices appear in smart preset settings, and nowhere in PEQ does it allow me to save or name anything - just turn on and off and setup for stereo vs l/r.. I will go back and look again tomorrow to be sure but that is not my understanding based on googling WiiM ..

Maybe you can show where you are seeing this because if I can do it I can’t see it anymore!

It includes PEQ, but no roomfit on / off toggle. So if you're out putting to a headphone dac / amp, roomfit is on unless you manually switch it off, which is an extra step.

The workaround is to plug your roomfit EQ into a saved profile and tie that to the preset, which is what I've done.

I don't even know what that means but it is probably a Google AI response 🙂

That's why I didn't say that smart presets include RoomFit. They obviously should for exactly the use case you mention, particularly for the Amps as the most likely thing to connect to the USB output is a headphone amp.
