I want to connect my Samsung TV to the Ultra and Ultra to Samsung Soundbar mainly for music around the house via other WiiM devices I have. What is the best way if I only have 1 eARC connection which is currently TV to Soundbar. My main goal is to listen to music from TV app via WiiM as a wireless home system but can I also listen to streamed music from Ultra to Soundbar and other WiiMs at the same time. Are any of these things possible or am I being to ambitious? Was looking at ARC splitters as an option as well as just using Optical cable. What would be best please.

Hi
Which soundbar model do you have?

When using the Ultra solely for music, you don't need to connect it to the TV. If your soundbar has input ports other than HDMI (Optical or RCA), you can connect the Ultra to those.

You can enable multi-room playback by installing WiiM units in other rooms.

Thank you for the quick reply, I think it's the 990c or 990f, top of the range one whatever the code, which is why I don't need the Ultra for TV sound. Would I connect Ultra to Soundbar or TV? My TV has the separate box so is easier to connect. Both have optical ports. I have WiiM units in other rooms.

Connect the Ultra's optical-out to the soundbar. The Ultra's HDMI is ARC input only, so it can't be connected to the TV's HDMI input. (If the TV and soundbar are already connected via ARC.)

This is another way to connect.
TV > (ARC) > Ultra > (Optical) > Soundbar

Which is better depends on your purpose.

Do you have two WiiM devices?
If so, you can link them for group playback.
