Hi,
I bought my Wiim Ultra a week ago and since yesterday I hear high pitched sizzling sound from inside the box. It stops when i disconnect HDMI.
I tried connecting Wiim and TV to separate power outlets, disconnecting antenna form Tv, I also tried different HDMI cable but nothing helped.
Does is sound like a faulty unit? I have no other ideas...

Sounds faulty. Literally ;-). My months-old functional Ultra has never made such noise.

Definitely sounds like you have an issue. Where did you purchase it from? If you got it from Amazon I would utilize their excellent return policy and exchange it.

but as Wiim stands underneath it I incorrectly identified source.
Could you try carefully cleaning the hdmi socket (with the power off from TV and WiiM) and the metal part of the male ends of the hdmi plugs with isopropyl alcohol.

I believe that this could be the issue.
From AI
the metal outer shell of an HDMI connector is designed to be a ground (or "shield") connection. It is intended to be bonded to the metal chassis of the connected devices (like a TV or computer) to provide shielding and a ground reference, which helps prevent electromagnetic interference (EMI).

Then again I could be totally wrong about this 😂😂
But one of our resident EE's will correct me.

Or maybe someone put some bacon inside the TV.
