So what's with the forced 3-day reboots?

This is absolutely insane. Why does the device have to reboot every 3 days? It always messes up with my listening queue in progress, it resets everything and I have to start from scratch. And to crown it all, today, after listeningfor about 8 hours straight, my Ultra was apparently already impatiently waiting for me to finally stop listening to perform its very urgent reboot, because when I paused the playback just to make a phone call, it rebooted IMMEDIATELY after I paused it. This is completely unacceptable!

Give us an option to opt-out of these stupid reboots! Imagine your router or PC would reboot on you every 3 days no matter what, would this also be ok? So why do we have to put up with it in our streamers? Or am I the only one who is completely disgusted by this behavior?

It is randomly rebooting every 3 days +/- a few hours at various times of day, not just at night. This last straw I had with this behavior happened today at around 6PM CEST, it rebooted right in front of me when I just paused the listening for a few minutes.

This is not a bug, this forced reboot every 3 days is well documented at this point, and I would simply want to know why and ask for an option to opt-out of it, because it is really annoying.

I'm like Burnside -- haven't had this issue on any of my units (Ultra, Pro+, Pro & Mini). Sounds like something specific to your unit so sending a ticket through your app is the best bet.

Submit a ticket to WiiM via the more/feedback section in the app and see what they say. Can’t say it’s something I’ve noticed, but then again I don’t run hours-long playlists.
Definitely do this. I did this with a another technical issue - they were able to see something in the logs (which are only sent if you request support in the app) and were able to fix it.

My WiiM devices reboot periodically, as does one of my PVRs, as do my Apple iPads, as does my broadband router, and quite possibly many other devices that I’m not aware of.

I don’t see this as a problem, as the reboots are usually done during periods of inactivity.

I understand that part of the reason is to clear any memory leak issues that may occur in these devices, but don’t quote me on this.

never noticed my ios devices rebooting periodically. they do it when i want them to do so. my ultra is the only device with such a behavior. all other stuff let me decide. never ending story. i know. does not make it better.

The @WiiM Team and @WiiM Support have mentioned 'periodic housekeeping reboot' here several times, and the name suggests that they are clearing data, deleting unwanted logs, clearing the cache, etc.

Perhaps like many other users, I have never noticed this reboot. During the day, I often keep the device playing for more than eight hours, but I have never experienced the device rebooting immediately after a pause.

If you use the WiiM Home App it's easy to see that the device has rebooted. The play queue or selection is cleared and the WiiM will show "No music selected".

This happens often and usually during the night.

Unfortunately I think you are right here. This rebooting was introduced after there were reports about the WiiM crashing (almost a year ago, I think). So probably some memory leaks that are hard to find or fix?

We can also see that issues with the WiiMs can often be fixed just by rebooting, so this also indicates some issues with the stability.

Bug or no bug, only WiiM can explain. Venting your frustration here won’t be as productive as raising a ticket.
