You missed my point, it doesn't work when devices connected to ethernet, says no devices found, so it kind of does make a difference.

Exactly. Then your devices are probably not on same network when connected via Ethernet but are when connected via WiFi.
From a device applications point of view there is no difference between WiFi and Ethernet.
Doesn't the app literally have "Lite" in the name? It isn't meant to replace the Home app. This will only work if both Apple TV and Wiim product are connected via wifi, will not work if products are connected to ethernet, and definitely best to have atv connected to ethernet for playing 4K content. App is also very basic. Would be better if it had more functionality, closer to the IOS app.
Well, not sure about your setup, but I have an eero mesh network in my home, and the eero base unit hooks up to the cable modem/router via Ethernet. If I have one WiiM device connected to my eero WiFi mesh and the other to my cable modem’s own WiFi, they cannot find each other, despite being, “in the same network.”I only have one network. How can devices be on different networks?
Check the Apple TV’s IP address when it’s on wifi or Ethernet and make sure they’re on the same subnet as your WiiM. Post the IP addresses here so we can help check them. Is your WiiM device on Ethernet or WiFi?I only have one network. How can devices be on different networks?
Thanks for that EddNog, I did not know that, will investigate later, I'm sure that will be the problem as have similar setup.Well, not sure about your setup, but I have an eero mesh network in my home, and the eero base unit hooks up to the cable modem/router via Ethernet. They cooperate quite fine when they are all on the mesh. Are your Apple TV and WiiM both connected to the same Ethernet router? Or is the WiiM on a WiFi mesh but the Apple TV to your internet provider’s router instead?

If using a Mesh Network or multiple access points in a home network may split it into different logical (or sub) networks. They cannot communicate with each other only with the Internet. Thanks for that EddNog, I did not know that, will investigate later, I'm sure that will be the problem as have similar setup.
How do I determine this, and how do I get them to match/align/sync up so that devices on the cablemodem wifi can connect to devices on the mesh wifi?If using a Mesh Network or multiple access points in a home network may split it into different logical (or sub) networks. You can usually configure the Mesh Network to be the same as you router but default is in most cases to create a new subnet. You can tell it by looking at the IP addresses.
Can you turn off the cable modem WiFi. I have a Virginmedia Hub which can be run in "Modem only" mode. How do I determine this, and how do I get them to match/align/sync up so that devices on the cablemodem wifi can connect to devices on the mesh wifi?
Sorry, I'm quite a layman when it comes to networking technology, so this stuff confuses me quite readily. I believe this is a necessary step, however, for me to attach a NAS via ethernet to my cablemodem/router, and still allow my WiiM on the eero mesh to find it.
Feel free to separately DM/PM me if you prefer to stay on-topic in this thread.

I could, but that doesn't quite solve my problem with the NAS, which requires ethernet (or do they make WiFi NAS units?)Can you turn off the cable modem WiFi. I have a Virginmedia Hub which can be run in "Modem only" mode.
In bridge mode the modem can only be connected to the Mesh Network gateway and nothing else can be connected to it.Can you turn off the cable modem WiFi. I have a Virginmedia Hub which can be run in "Modem only" mode.
Doesn't the Mesh Network have ethernet sockets? I have no idea.In bridge mode the modem can only be connected to the Mesh Network gateway and nothing else can be connected to it.
Have a look at https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/articles/208276903-Bridge-Mode-and-Double-NATIn bridge mode the modem can only be connected to the Mesh Network gateway and nothing else can be connected to it.
