Hi,
I recently bought a Wiim Pro Plus and have been very happy using it from my Android phone with the WiiM Home app and Spotify, everything works great.
However, I can't get my Google home devices (Nest, mini and audio) to stream to the WiiM box with Spotify.
I'm following the advice at https://faq.wiimhome.com/en/support...rol-your-wiim-pro-with-google-voice-assistant which all looks good, but nothing happens when I ask Google to play a song or album. If I ask to play a radio channel, it works, but that's using a different app to Spotify, so I assume it's a Spotify issue on my Google devices?
My WiiM Pro Plus is visible in Google home, is chromecast enabled, in the same Google room as my Nest, is the default speaker on the Nest, but even with the above setup nothing gets played through Spotify. I can set the default speaker to be a Google audio device in another room and that works, it's just the WiiM I can't stream through.
My Google devices are maybe 2-3 years old, not the latest. The system firmware version looks up to date. not sure about the cast firmware version.
I did also set up a chromecast group with the Nest and the WiiM in it, and if I manually select that group from the media dropdown on the Nest touch screen, it does play (on both), but the option to manually play on the WiiM is greyed out. Not that I'd want to have to do that to make it work, but it suggests Spotify can play to the WiiM in some configurations.
I've worked around it for now by using the mic on the WiiM remote to control the box with Alexa voice commands, and I can play anything on spotify that way, but it would be great to be hands-free with the Google voice assistant on my Google home devices.
It's a great device, but this is a bit annoying.
Thanks,
Tim
