The competition doesn't sleep

there is always this line of force...
wiim linkplay does not come from audio...
Now it's very much intertwined... You can't do without software. Historically, FiiO releases a buggy product to the market, then tries to fix it or supplement it, and then abandons it and removes it from production, and the client is left with a product that barely works. I say this as an owner of the UTWS5. And the hardware in this device is excellent.

Does the FiiO have Squeezelite? If so you can do without software 🤣. On the other hand you just buy a Raspberry Pi instead of the FiiO and save loadsamoney.

What HiFi - I know, I know - has another compliment for the Ultra. In its recent comparison WiiM and Cambridge driving in circles round the Nodes and the entry Audiolab.

Cast update to 1.52.272222

Update link -
For anyone, coming across this thread in a search for updating Riva speakers, be aware that the new Riva Audio app is now available on the PlayStore (and maybe on the IOS App Store ?). This will now update your speakers in a much easier way directly via the app itself

The USB output may be of particular interest to some. The NE-2 got a very positive review on ASR

It seems a good piece of hardware but as usual, ASR doesn't go in depth to user interfaces, regarding compatibility and versatility that are the best features of WiiM.

Yes. One box. All the functions. Just add the passive speakers you like, and maybe a cool looking turntable for show.
just "modern" mini hi-fi system...not speakers like I used to see...but the famous, essential big screen...
;-)
(For an economical approach, the market is full of small second-hand mini hi-fi systems...plus a Wiim mini...and there you go...
)

probably the first thing their team studies when the screen is set .....
;-)
(It's funny, I see it firstly fir big screen, while available on our tablets and phones, a planned obsolescence and a fragility)
