As an American I want to apologize to any that our president has slighted, insulted, threatened, or killed. He is a criminal and an embarrassment. I suspect the whole Venezuela/Greenland/Columbia/Cuba/Panama thing has started up again to distract stupid Americans from the Epstein files, and it seems to be working.

I'm going to get out of here as soon as I can find a place that isn't hostile to American refugees, if there is any such place left on earth.

Yes, what has become of America? But believe me, here in Germany it's also on the decline. A right-wing party is gaining more and more support, and our current administration is too stupid to ban it, even though the legal basis for doing so exists.

The rise of nationalistic parties is a common feature across most of the developed world. Sadly, people seem to have forgotten their history (largely down to addictive social media trash) and are being condemned to relive it. Few politicians seem capable of counteracting this phenomenon, and sadly modern music is lacking mobilised protest amongst the young (cf. The 60-80s).

Essentially, I see competition for resources (and to a lesser extent culturally) between America, Russia, a fragmented Eurasia and China. The latter is definitely years ahead of the rest which has provoked the current isolationist-expansionist creature known as the USA.

I'm afraid the arts, music & the humanities are going to take a bashing.

Some good satire & parodies but nothing like the cultural revolution (eh!?) of the 60 - 80s.

And don't get me started on the current overwhelmingly fatuous worthless movie output compared to the second half of the 20th century.
