The rise of nationalistic parties is a common feature across most of the developed world. Sadly, people seem to have forgotten their history (largely down to addictive social media trash) and are being condemned to relive it. Few politicians seem capable of counteracting this phenomenon, and sadly modern music is lacking mobilised protest amongst the young (cf. The 60-80s).
Essentially, I see competition for resources (and to a lesser extent culturally) between America, Russia, a fragmented Eurasia and China. The latter is definitely years ahead of the rest which has provoked the current isolationist-expansionist creature known as the USA.
I'm afraid the arts, music & the humanities are going to take a bashing.
