Hi,
From some time, I have problem with playing Tidal MAX Albums (those with FLAC 4350 kbps 24-bit/192 kHz.
At Random times, music stop playing for 1-2 sec - like 20-40 times per song.

Wiim soft is up to date.
This is not a internet issue problem - tested and rebooted everything. Connecting only through IPv4 with google DNS's on 5GHz Wifi and 300Mbit fiber. On other devices TIDAL works just fine.
# Tested different SPDIF cables (using stock Wiim cable, cleaned up - not twisted),
# Lowering SPDIF output resolution in Wiim to test.
# Tested Diffrent DAC SPDIF inputs

Nothing is working.

Problem occurs on Tidal album: The Alan Parsons Project - I Robot.
Looks like software/hardware problem to me.

We will be grateful for your help.

I have exactly the same problem. 24 bit 96/192 kHz tracks from Tidal are interrupted frequently when streamed on Wiim Mini. It's annoying. I don't think it is a problem with wifi as many suggest. There is no problem when playing the same tracks directly in Tidal app on Android phone. I raised a ticket and waiting for a respons. We'll see...

How is your mini connected? If you’re using its optical out, either try another cable ensuring it’s properly seated at each end, or try dropping the resolution to 24/96 and see if you still get the same dropouts.

I dont think it is a problem with a cable. I tried with 2 different. I also reduced SPDIF output resolution. The issue still exists. It is not a problem with output. By the way I have never had such problems before still having the same cable, the same output settings and the same wifi. It is a new issue.

Do you get the same issues whether you’re using Tidal Connect or Tidal from within the WiiM Home app?

And isn't it the case that regardless of whether it's Tidal Connect or the Wiim app, the implied application in the Wiim is launched anyway? This doesn't matter to me. The problem is with the data transfer from Tidal to the receiving device.

I think it’s fair to say that while the stream does indeed come from the Tidal cloud to the WiiM device in both cases, Tidal Connect (and maybe more so on Android) has a reputation for not always being stable as Tidal within the WiiM app.

same problem with my Wiim Mini with Tidal Max only. im using High to listen my music without stutters. Mini has a direct view with wifi router, so wifi is perfect. when im streaming vinyls 24/192 rips from my NAS - zero stutters. so its a Tidal problem than. also i had stutters on tidal desktop app (desktop has ethernet 1gpbs connection with optical cable to my flat). so its a Tidal problem i guess. im in Slovakia

Where is the location of you're modem? Far away from the mini?
If it is try a WiFi booster ..

I don't think it's related to the WiFi connection. I have got same issue lately and I uses Ethernet all the way from a 1 Gbit fiber connection. It's more probably a Tidal server issue introduced not long ago.

In my case, after long time of testing, I am pretty sure it is a problem with Tidal and not with Wiim. Tidal is very unstable, fortunately it happens only from time to time, not always. Anyways, it is very annoying.

Hi, any news?
From @WiiM Support on 2025-04-08:

"Thank you for your response, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

We expect to address this issue in the next firmware update. As a temporary solution, we recommend setting the maximum sample rate to 192kHz in the WiiM Home app > Devices tab > Gear icon > Audio Settings > Optical Output Resolution.

We appreciate your patience and understanding."

Hi, any news?
Did your WiiM Mini receive the firmware update to version 4.6.713548 yet?

According to the release announcement it includes the following:
What's New:
  1. ...
  2. TIDAL Queue Enhancements: Improved shuffle functionality with track order retention and faster queue performance.
  3. TIDAL Auto Play: Now supports auto-play; enable it in the WiiM Home App.
...
Bug Fixes & Performance Improvements:
  1. ...
  2. ...
  3. ...
  4. TIDAL Fix: Fixed skipping, playback errors, and incorrect quality cap on 24-bit/96kHz optical/coax outputs.
...

Same problem, clearly not an internet connection issue. My connection is very stable and fast. I've tried Ethernet and that doesn't fix it either. Playing Tidal through Roon, Audirvana, and Jplay works perfectly, so the cables shouldn't be the problem either. I've also tried different streamers and the same thing happens. I have an Eversolo DMP-A8 and the same dropouts. It only happens with 192kHz discs. It's strange, but I understand there must be some issue with the app and Tidal Connect, or the Tidal servers. I'll keep looking for a solution.
