Tidal Tidal Login failed

I see on the following WiiM page that they mention using Google Chrome as default browser. What a lot of nonsense. I use the latest release of Firefox as my default browser for privacy and security reasons. I should NOT have to use Google Chrome as my default browser. WiiM should be fully W3.org compatible. If it's not, they should sort it. What a bunch of amateurs.Screenshot 2025-08-02 at 23-48-53 Unable to Log in Qobuz TIDAL TuneIn or Plex via WiiM Home Ap...png

At least I still have full access to Tidal. I'll put this under 'first world problems' and wait for a reply from support. I'm beginning to wonder if this could be an IP provider routing issue.

Thanks for the replies.

Tidal works fine using the dedicated Android Tidal app when casting to my Denon AVC3700H receiver (Tidal Direct & Chromecast)

Tidal works fine using the Windows 11 desktop app, I can cast it to my Denon AVC37010H using Chromecast and Tidal Direct.
What is Tidal Direct? Never heard of that.

I have no other ideas as of how to resolve this now. I have submitted a support ticket.
That's a smart idea.

In the Windows 11 desktop app I'm getting the following Javascript error when trying to cast any tracks to the WiiM Ultra when trying to use Tidal Connect or Chromecast. Casting Tidal using Tidal Connect to Denon AVC-3700H works fine, as does casting to Chromecast UHD under Chromecast. WiiM Ultra casting works with neither.

I hope you added this screenshot to the ticket. If not, you can append it to the existing ticket.

They don't say it out loud but I think this hint is mostly directed at Samsung smartphone users. The Samsung "web browser" that used to be the system default for a long time (not sure if this is still the case) is anything but compliant to W3C standards.

Androud no longer has its own "system browser" as it used to in the olden days and I'm not quite sure if the wiiM home app currently uses the WebView component or the default browser to handle the login to third party services. There's been a change at one point in time.

One of several possible reasons. Tidal login never gave me a problem with the Ultra (or any other WiiM) except during the period of time mentioned above, when clearly Tidal did something to "their" (rented) servers and WiiM took some (secret) counter actions.

If you do not want to use Chrome for “security reasons” and we are talking about the Android app, you can temporarily install the DuckDuckGo browser and set it as the default. Firefox is not always error-free depending on the Andoid version...
