Tidal Tidal Login failed

I see on the following WiiM page that they mention using Google Chrome as default browser. What a lot of nonsense. I use the latest release of Firefox as my default browser for privacy and security reasons. I should NOT have to use Google Chrome as my default browser. WiiM should be fully W3.org compatible. If it's not, they should sort it. What a bunch of amateurs.Screenshot 2025-08-02 at 23-48-53 Unable to Log in Qobuz TIDAL TuneIn or Plex via WiiM Home Ap...png

At least I still have full access to Tidal. I'll put this under 'first world problems' and wait for a reply from support. I'm beginning to wonder if this could be an IP provider routing issue.

Thanks for the replies.

Tidal works fine using the dedicated Android Tidal app when casting to my Denon AVC3700H receiver (Tidal Direct & Chromecast)
...
Tidal works fine using the Windows 11 desktop app, I can cast it to my Denon AVC37010H using Chromecast and Tidal Direct.
What is Tidal Direct? Never heard of that.

I have no other ideas as of how to resolve this now. I have submitted a support ticket.
That's a smart idea.

In the Windows 11 desktop app I'm getting the following Javascript error when trying to cast any tracks to the WiiM Ultra when trying to use Tidal Connect or Chromecast. Casting Tidal using Tidal Connect to Denon AVC-3700H works fine, as does casting to Chromecast UHD under Chromecast. WiiM Ultra casting works with neither.

I hope you added this screenshot to the ticket. If not, you can append it to the existing ticket.

They don't say it out loud but I think this hint is mostly directed at Samsung smartphone users. The Samsung "web browser" that used to be the system default for a long time (not sure if this is still the case) is anything but compliant to W3C standards.

Android no longer has its own "system browser" as it used to in the olden days and I'm not quite sure if the wiiM home app currently uses the WebView component or the default browser to handle the login to third party services. There's been a change at one point in time.

One of several possible reasons. Tidal login never gave me a problem with the Ultra (or any other WiiM) except during the period of time mentioned above, when clearly Tidal did something to "their" (rented) servers and WiiM took some (secret) counter actions.

If you do not want to use Chrome for “security reasons” and we are talking about the Android app, you can temporarily install the DuckDuckGo browser and set it as the default. Firefox is not always error-free depending on the Andoid version...

3 full factory WiiM resets, 3 complete network reboots and 3 uninstall/ reinstalls of the Android app finally seems to have resolved the irritating WiiM problem.

I can't say I'm impressed. I wonder how long it will take for this Tidal login refusal nonsense to happen again. This is already the 4th time it's happened.

How is Tidal dealing with your complaint?

Tidal is not the problem. During WiiM setup, TIdal is chosen as a streaming service to add to WiiM, I'm transferred to a pop-up browser login screen for Tidal. I log in and see confirmation that I've logged in, a tick after logging in. WiiM then refuses to acknowledge the succesful Tidal login. This is a WiiM problem.

A problem for you, but nobody else.

How come?

That's a rather silly question is it not? If I knew the answer, I would not be posting here or reaching out to WiiM support.
Do you have any special characters in your login (name or password)?

We have seen issues around that, although not with Tidal.

So far the only reason I see for you posting here is to vent your anger and annoy everyone with your generalised rants.

The entire point of this forum is to get help and advice from other users. If you've nothing sensible to add, maybe don't bother reacting.
This is a community forum. Don't expect the community to support you when behaving like a pig.

It is also a place to seek support in a respectful way. Most of your posts take the drama level to 10 with the unnecessary suggestion that the product doesn't do what it is supposed to.

Understandably when something doesn't go as expected there can be frustration. At least there is a forum where one can seek help. It isn't a place to simply vent or rant.

I do hope you find a permanent solution in your case. I'm going back to listen to music on my Ultra.

If you had bothered to read my replies, which you obviously have not, you would have read the following:

"3 full factory WiiM resets, 3 complete network reboots and 3 uninstall/ reinstalls of the Android app finally seems to have resolved the irritating WiiM problem." https://forum.wiimhome.com/threads/tidal-login-failed.3067/page-2#post-140347

It is still a mystery as to why the WiiM Ultra has intermittent problems with logging itself out of Tidal for no reason and then not being able to acknowledge being logged in again. On doing a search, which I did before posting on this thread using the forum search and Google using "WiiM logged out of tidal cannot log back in", it can be seen that others also have issues with the WiiM and logging in to Tidal and other streaming services. https://www.google.com/search?clien...annot+log+back+in&sei=GJ6PaP6qJYqA9u8P3PGPiQ0

As with all technology, it's great when it works but a pain in the neck when it doesn't. No amount of fanboyism will change that.

Could be a Tidal/ Firefox related issue as some Naim users experienced a similar issue a little while back…

These hints seem to be deliberately ignored... 🤔
