I am unable to set my WIim Ultra/ LG C3 device so that when I turn on the Wiim ultra, it does not immediately change the audio out on the TV to HDMI. I want to stay with normal TV internal speakers out, and use it only when I switch it manually. However, no matter what I set in Wiim app , its always change - when I turn on Wiim Ultra, or when I turn on TV. Is there a way to fix that?

Auto sensing of HDMI in - set to OFF
HDMI-CEC Power Control - set to OFF

I have exactly same issue with my Sony TV.

If WiiM Ultra has power (even in standby) and I turn on the TV it changes the output to HDMI after a few seconds.

I have tried every settings I know of on TV and WiiM with no luck. Now I have just unplugged the HDMI cable unless I need the TV sound via WiiM

Note that the thread "WiiM ULTRA to not turn on automatically" describes the opposite problem that WiiM turns on when the TV do.

I hope that unplugging the cable is not something we will come to do in the long run :)

I have a question hopefully someone can answer it.
If you're using HDMI arc..
My tv detects the wiim perfectly.
But the sound normally coming from the speakers of the tvare they being operated too when using HDMI arc?
I think they aren't.
Is it possible when using HDMI arc you are using the speakers of the TV and the 2.1 set up from the Wiim?
Or is it so when you are using the hdmi arc( cec on) you are getting only sound from the Wiim?

Same behavior with Wiim Amp and Samsung TV 🤒
My solution has been to use optical connection instead of HDMI

I hope it will be fixed, right? For me, it's obvious unexpected situation

I have just tested a beta version for Ultra that fixes this issue with HDMI ARC.

The TV do no longer change to external speakers (HDMI) when turned on, and CEC Power Control is off in the Ultra.

The HDMI auto sensing works if you manually change speakers on the TV.

The Ultra input selection works. If you select TV as input, then the TV changes to external speakers and if you then select another input the TV changes back to internal speakers.

With CEC Power Control on, all works as before.

Thanks to @WiiM Team for this fix.

I would like to have the same behavior as what the OP was mentioning, however @sNc on my LG C2 the CEC (Simplink) seems to turn on automatically when the audio is switched to ARC.. is that the case for you as well?
Would the Ultra still behave as expected when the CEC will be turned on on the TV, even if off in the Wiim app?

That is what will come soon in an firmware update.

That it should; to allow volume control.

With new firmware the WiiM will not react to CEC power on, if "CEC Power Control" is off

Would the TV still switch from ARC to internal speaker after the Ultra is turned off? Or that's TV dependent behavior.

You cannot turn the WiiM off. It will however return the TV to internal speakers when going into standby (also via remote "off") or if another input is selected.

At least that is what my TV (Sony) do with the Beta Software.

Do you know if this is fixed in the latest fw? I did not find it in the release notes.

Unfortunately @WiiM Team have decided to NOT included the code from the successful beta test.

That is very strange and could indicate that that the team doesn't have a good control of the software maintenance process.

This bug have been there from the start and is very annoying for the people having the TV attached but don't want to have the CEC Power Control enabled.

@RyanWithWiiM For some reason I'm getting ghosted by @WiiM Support when updating the Beta test feedback.
