Two Sound Lite's as a surround sound

I have one more question...

Can I set settings in WiiM Sound Lite (set as surround) to play sound only when my main WiiM Amp Ultra received AC 5.1 sound?
I don't want to WiiM Sound Lite play stereo sound when I watching stereo stuff.

If there is no such option... WiiM Team please think about this.

Best regards

Unfortunately, that's not possible yet. I too hope this will be improved.

wiim need to get this stereo/surround option nailed and a totally stable stereo muti room option, sonos still seem to be the kings of multi speaker link ups. my old sonos 1s version 1.0 still work perfectly, my switch to wiim was really just on a 'whim' .. :ROFLMAO:
Point is if they want people to stay in their ecosystem then it needs to be 'bulletproof' and not require a degree in pi, nas and various other things discussed or multiple forum visits and tickets to try and resolve.

I agree to some extent, but Sonos' history actually began with smart speakers. They have a long history. WiiM does not. WiiM Sound is their first model. In my opinion, WiiM's Multi Music hasn't prioritized stereo pairs until now. It's still developing. (Of course, it would have been better if stereo pairs worked perfectly from the start.🙂)

Hello,

I received my WiiM Sound Lite today. 5.1 sound is working quite good even I only have one speaker as satellite (there is not much channel separation) but I am not very happy how WiiM Sound sounds as standalone speaker:( It is quite silent and there is no bass (40m2 living room). Maybe I was hyped to much. I comparing it to Dali 5 and sub :) But I also have Pionner MRX-3 since 5 years and I must say it sounds better for me (I think:)

Don't make me wrong. It is ok for smaller rooms and maybe I need to put it in other place and make some EQ but for first 30 minutes of using...

From the other side... Packing and quality is superb. Pairing with app and how it works also. Excellent job WiiM.

For my usage - satellite for some movies it is ok.

PS: There should be option to use only front speakers + sub when in music mode. It should be automatic. At this software version You need to mute satellite with WiiM app.

Best regards
I have 2 WiiM Sounds and an Ultra. And when watching something like Stranger Things, I noticed the channel separation. I set my 2 WiiM sounds as SL & SR, and I have passive speakers for the front with a subwoofer. It actually made a really big difference in watching that programme.

My issue at the moment is that if you use the 2 WiiM sounds and connect to your TV via Bluetooth. which works very well, and I didn't have drop outs the volume becomes an issue, as it's either too loud or too low, and there is no happy medium.

To be honest, I think it's really early days with the WIIM sound and using them in a movie setup.

Bluetooth? That's not the way a WiiM multih-channel system is intended to work.Don't you have a WiiM Amplifier or WiiM Ultra for the front speakers?

Does your TV contain a Dolby Digital Decoder or how does it send surround contents only to the WiiM Sound speakers?

Sorry I wasn’t clear I meant if you use 2 WiiM Sounds with you TV as front speakers

Good to know in case we find you talking to yourself. ;)

I still don't fully understand the comment regarding Bluetooth. Anything Bluetooth is definitely not WiiM surround sound or what people would recognise as a "movie setup". It's doable, but not the preferred option (just for latency reasons).

Basically it’s a classic case of don’t be a work and keep looking at WiiM forum pages. As what you type will make no sense.

I have just been testing out what I can hook my sounds up to. So I hooked up to the TV via a fire stick. I didn’t have any latency but there was a problem with volume it’s either to quiet or to loud
