I wonder if they will offer 6 years on it for the warranty like the other wiim products they sell, it seems to be only 2 years for the preorder.

£499 is a solid price though, makes it cheaper than the discounted vibelink and ultra together. I will wait till September to get one rather than importing from amazon DE in this case.

This may be a pre-order price. Judging by what others are saying that are more knowledgeable. When I got my first Ultra I got it a bit cheaper by pre-ordering.

I managed to get it for £479 on pre-order from my Richer Sounds branch, with a 6 year warranty included. I had bought a Wiim Amp from them before amongst other things. I seem to remember, from my Wiim Amp purchase, that the price for that rose slightly soon after purchase......but obviously has been discounted now.

If that's even close to accurate, £499 is an astonishing price.

The 'full/launch' price for the Ultra streamer and Vibelink amp combined in the UK is £668 (£349 + £319).

At £499 I think the Amp Ultra becomes the ultimate disruptor. The only concern I might have is longevity but, as a value proposition it's incredible.
Shame I have no excuse to buy one.

Sometimes you have to make up an excuse - I'm giving my existing Wiim Amp to a family member............they don't know this yet. They may not have any need for it, but it legitimises my Ultra purchase

It's a crazy price.

I'm going to offer that, when you look at the Ultra streamer/pre amp (no amp) vs the competition, if the Ultra was £499 it'd still be the best on the market for anything like that price.
