Ultra max. Bitrate for USB DAC

Sorry I don't follow you, same how? I have no issue when I attach my Ultra over usb to my DAC/amp as it reflects the correct track resolution on track changes - that thread looked like an issue with that particular avr.
Well, it all seems to have the same problem, definitely don't switch to high-resolution audio at 24/192.

Maybe it was also blocked because it is currently still causing problems.

God, if anything read like an isolated out of context article generated by ChatGPT or some other AI bot, that certainly did, and that’s why I never rely on them for any info..

I don’t know where it’s getting all the info about users typically having issues playing 24/192 over usb from the the Ultra - I’ve been a user her since the start of the forum and an early Ultra user and I for one wouldn’t put any credence into those claims.

That may be anything, we're going around in circles here. 24/192 is not possible.

Maybe there is a beta firmware that can do this, if not I'll give it back.

Maybe in the future...

Hi @adias , are you having any issues outputting 24/192 from your ultra to an external DAC? Seemingly my word isn’t good enough…

no problem here
Ultra to Z8 DAC via USB, shows PCM 384kHz on power up with no signal, then changes according to the track being played, up to 24/192.
Both when using WiiM Home app or Tidal Connect.

Of course, I believe you that it basically works. Unfortunately, this is not the case with me and the creator of the thread. Therefore, I will contact Benchmark.

Can anybody please send me a title or a link to a track that is guaranteed to play with 24/192?

cheers
ron

Have you submitted a ticket to WiiM when this happens via the more/feedback section in the WiiM app so they can inspect your device logs?

“Do it again” by Steely Dan is 24/192 on Qobuz

Hi!

Just created the support ticket. Would very much like to keep the device, because it is totally great. It actually almost doesn't matter, because it works via coax. My Naim streamer costs more than ten times. I have to say, the Ultra is doing really well.

cheers

It could be there’s an incompatibility with your DAC but WiiM hopefully will be able to identify that and maybe even provide a fix. It seems not all USB DACs are the same and the firmware has to be tweaked, maybe at each end, to cater for such situations. Good luck

I opened two different tickets (first in december) because of the 24/192 problem with my DAC, but no reaction from Wiim.
