Ultra not scanning all tunes.

Have just purchased an Ultra, and have a bit of a problem.
My SSD drive has approx 24000 tracks on it. LMS reads this fine. The are all Flac, and only a few have the 'important' metadata missing. (Album, album artist etc)
Plug it into the Wiim and it only scans about 9700 tunes. Do a quick scan and it adds about another thousand.
What can I do/where am I going wrong?

Thanks in advance
Karl

If you are already using LMS I would stick with that.

Can I put LMS on the Wiim?
Certainly don't want to involve my NAS, and using a pi etc seems a step back in neatness and box count

It was on a Rpi 3.
But I would much rather the Ultra would read all the tracks, like it should
For the time being, I’d stick to using the pi. I got the Ultra as a replacement for a pi but that’s just been causing headaches and, for me at least, controlling the Ultra from LMS is a much better experience.

25watts in idle for my Nas is more that the power consumption of the entire house in 'idle'.
Really the point is that the Wiim won't read all the tracks...

Were they the numbers reported at the beginning of the scan i.e. Found 9700 Tracks?

The indexing process is a black box, so your only option is to send feedback through the WHA (More > feedback) which will give WiiM the necessary access to debug the problem.

IMO, the WiiM players' original focus was streaming from online sources like Spotify, Qobuz, Tidal, etc. The ability to play from local collections via DLNA was poor at first and they eventually added the Squeezelite function to support LMS servers. My setup works perfectly with LMS and music on the NAS, and also functions well with Minimserver installed, but rather poorly with QNAP's default Multimedia server. The latter only shows a small percentage of the tracks on the WiiM app that are indexed on the QNAP. (I've never tried a USB stick directly plugged into my Ultra.)

That said, WiiM has been one of the best companies I've ever seen in making constant software improvements based on customer suggestions. That's why the best approach for problems like this is to submit a question through their Feedback tab on their app.
