UMIK-1 mic support for room correction

I plugged a UMIK-1 mic into my iPad when doing room correction with my Pro Plus. I assume it worked, since I got a much different (and to my ears, better) equalization curve then when using the internal iPad mic. However, there is no way that I have found to apply the UMIK-1 calibration file. Support for high quality external mics with calibration files would be a great enhancement.

For Wiim RC, should I put the mic upwards or directly at the specific speaker? (then use the specific mic cal file)

I'm using 90 degree and pointing mic up. Should I use 0 degree and point to speaker?

This is a useful reminder, but mainly for multi-channel setups (and in particular when the RC algorithm tries to determine distances through acoustical measurement).

For the classic WiiM stereo setup (subwoofer or not doesn't matter) 0 degree measurements are just fine (or even better, if you still want to do broadband correction).
I am not an expert at all, I have already admitted it, and will read you with interest on these subjects...
but I had just understood that even in stereo-subwoofer etc as you point out, not full band (which is essentially recommended here in general), the 90 degrees were often tried as a first intention ( with cal adapted, although under 1khz, will not be so different in certain cases...to be checked in step because case...*) ... ;-) )

*I don't have a little Dayton.... but careful rigourous observation of the precise distance etc between 90 and zero with Rew etc. to understand the general difference in the cal side of this microphone at 90 and 0 would be really interesting for many...

( examples just for "educational purposes" ;-).. "m" ...m-30 )
