As per the title, should I use Line out or the Phones Jack of Mechen M30 player to connect to WiiM Pro?
I am using it to gain access to local files without having to boot a pc. It is working fine but just wondering.
My first inclination was to use the line out hoping to minimise what the player did and leave most work to the WiiM and my amp.
Both jacks work fine but I would have expected the line out to be a much lower volume than the phones out but was surprised to find both the same, or very close if not. Wondering if the Mechen can be a true line out at all as it must surely be amplifying the signal?
Are there any advantages to be gained using either?
I suspect I may also be downgrading the source via the Mechen DAC instead of decoding by the WiiM too, but doubt my aging ears will notice that.
As mentioned elsewhere I think I will eventually end up with a windows server for local files.
