Hi folks - keen to try out the Vibelink purely as an amp. It looks like it is assumed that the amp will be hooked to a WiiM streamer with a 12v trigger. Any ideas or hacks for how I could use a non WiiM source, but not have to wake using the button on the back of the unit ?

Welcome.
If you have Bluetooth enabled then you can also turn it on / off (standby) from the wiim app.

I'm also 99% sure that if you turn off the power / turn it on again (e.g. a smart power switch or one with a master power switch) then when power comes back to it it'll turn on with the last selected input still chosen.

This will be perfect if it works. I usually run the gear through some smart plugs. Mine will arrive in the next day or two. Will confirm here. Thanks !

for fun spent a bit time for checking how good or bad the vibelink performs in our non streaming living room.
conclusion: it is a miracle how this little box performs. at least for me. the miracle.
first tried with my cd player via analog. great. player via optical was no alternative. do not ask me why. i missed 'something'. the obvious reason would be the dac in my player is 'better' than the vibelink's internal. not enough knowledge on my side. so impression only.
second step. even the turntable via my phono pre is no a iota worse than with my much more expensive integrated. well done.
a second analog in would be great.
what i do not know is if a running wiim system is mandatory. moving the amp in another room was no issue. but could it be different with no wiim system in sight? i guess not. but i do not know.
