Voice Remote 2

Actually, yes. :)

Having more presets available is the main feature I'd have liked to see with a new remote.

Having said that, I do see some extra value in the rechargeable battery and nicer build quality. Maybe just not enough value.
Hi harkpabst, team

We’re considering expanding the number of available presets. With this update, a single tap would access presets 1–4, while a double tap would access presets 5–8.
Stay tuned for more details!

Is there no triple tap? 😂

At the risk of offending someone, but I personally think it would be better to be able to switch from 1~12 in sequence by hitting the preset 1 button repeatedly.
(Same as the preset buttons on the Pro device.)

Then you can replace presets 2~4 with other functions.

Two customization options would be ideal: double tap and repeatedly tap.

Or long press?

So to get to preset 9 you would tap the preset button 9 times and hope you counted correctly and that all the taps registered correctly. What could go wrong? 🤷‍♂️
It's hard enough cycling through inputs on the remote 🤣

That might be possible, but I must confess that a long press did not occur to me.🙂
I don't think you can send a long press with the Bluetooth protocol? Only repeated commands like when you hold down the volume keys.

I know what you mean!
The preset button on the Pro's device switches to the next preset each time it is pressed. Quick continuous press is not required 🙂.

In my case, if I double-tap preset 1, I would expect it to switch to 2.
I am not confident that I would remember to go to 5 😂.

(I might be able to remember if I wrote "1/5" on the preset button, though...)

The back and forward skip buttons would be good to cycle through presets.
Yes, but a other toggle button is needed to make that happen.
I previously suggested using the back and forward skip buttons to move the cursor on the Ultra screen, but that was rejected..😂

Just start by selecting one of the four preset buttons, and then use left and right skip to scroll through the other presets.

What about using multiple keys sum like this:

1 = preset 1
2 = preset 2
...
4+1 or 1+4 or 3+2 = preset 5
...
4+4 = preset 8
...
4+4+1 = preset 9
...
4+4+4 = preset 12
...

And so on.
Just need to enter the sum not too slowly :p

Should be just as easy as double clicking and more logical.

Then we could also have more than 12 ;)

That new remote looks really nice - I just wish backlighting was added like the Fire TV Voice Remote Pro (my favorite implementation of a remote) … especially now that you can charge via USB-C (don’t have to worry about excessive battery changes). I can’t see any additional features this has over the original remote (of which I have 3) … so may have to pass. The USB-C charging though is very useful .. and I wonder if that keeps the connection better between the WiiM device and remote (my remotes tend to lose connection frequently which is annoying).
