What products you'd like to see WiiM produce?

So, you believe that you know how the music should sound better than the actual artists, and studio engineers and producers do.
How did you come up with this? I literally said I know what sounds good to me. I've yet to run into anyone that disagrees that some recordings aren't produced well.

This goes back to the request of a separate volume control for the sub output. The question is whether there are enough potential buyers that want this feature to justify adding to a future product. When you're the only person who has asked for a particular feature and you don't get a lot of "likes" or agreeable comments, the odds aren't good for that ask.

The other issue is that I strongly suspect the number of people who get up to walk across the room to adjust the main physical volume level is probably a very small percentage of listeners. Like with TV remotes, its just too easy to stay seated and adjust volume from there with your phone, tablet or remote. From that perspective, it might be easier to bring the sub volume control up to a higher level in the app -- no physical redesign of the device needed, just a programming change. That makes it both easier and less expensive to implement.

Well someone mentioned the lack of sub output on the vibelink thread. So it's not just me that is concerned with sub output, it just seems like a farther cry to worry about a subwoofer knob. People on this thread seem to be more concerned with who has the bigger ego or features that they don't want to see. It's as if they are worried their own request will be ignored if someone else's request gets answered.

If that is the case then they should not be concerned at all with what knobs are on the device. Personally I sit right in front of mine so I'm not walking anywhere. On your second point, yes I think it should be relatively easy to add sub control to the presets/equalizer menu.

Not sure I'm following your logic to how changing sub level changes the crossover.
In my experience changing the subwoofer gain can change the response shape around the crossover slightly as the two responses (sub and main) get different weigths in acoustic summation.
If using RoomFit, the calibration therefore may no longer be optimal after the sub level is adjusted.
However, using a low shelf EQ would be just a linear change of total (summed) response, and RoomFit calibration would therefore not be negatively affected.
I use full frequency range for my main speakers, so using a low shelf filter actually adds a high pass filter to my mains.
Here I'm not sure I follow.
Do you mean to say you have the "Main Speakers Output Bass" option enabled, and you set the sub's low pass below the natural low frequency limit of your speakers?
Even with this approach the global low shelf EQ would still linearly apply to the total system response so I don't really see any issue with using it for this purpose.

In any case it is just an idea!

Okay I see what you're saying. I'm not concerned since I play my speakers at full range aka "main speakers output bass." This always gives me the best sound regardless if the subwoofer is on or off. I think an option to apply equalizer to subwoofer only or an option to adjust subwoofer level as a preset would help in my case.

Are there any plans for an actual WiiM compatible, portable speaker (Battery/wifi/outdoor proof, etc)? Only options now as far as I can tell are the the Audio Pro Addon C3 and A15.

No going to lie, I do miss my Sonos Roam & Move for the ability to drag them anywhere inside, outside, etc... and while the Addon C3's sounds pretty damn good the wifi stability and range is horrible.

Nothing specific that I recall, although it has been mentioned / requested a few times, and RyanWithWiim commented recently "I'll pass along the request for something battery powered."
Doesn't mean it'll happen though!

Yeah I figured, that's too bad... They need something that's more durable & "utility" in the mix. I need a speaker I can leave outside (in a screen room) or toss around in the garage without worrying about it getting damp, etc... Again, the Addon C3's are fulfilling this need for now but they are not the best and seem out of place honestly.

You know what? How about a VibeLink Pro or VibeLink Plus that provides more power (two TPA3255 chips & stronger internal PSU, similar to the amp stage in the WiiM Amp Ultra, or even better maybe Hypex or Purifi amp stage!), includes a remote control (so that the included analog volume control can be put to better use!), more inputs (maybe balanced input, maybe Bluetooth, especially if it supports a lossless and/or high-res format like LDAC, LHDC, or something similar), and maybe adjustable gain (like a low gain option +20dB which is the same as normal VibeLink and then a high gain option maybe like +26dB which would be in line with the Hypex or Purifi amps). Possibly upgrade the DAC to a Pro grade ESS chip, or maybe even AKM AK4499/4191EQ, and add USB input.

Nailed it! Also with improved analog stages

A decade ago. Have everything on a nice hard drive, add cd’s when i buy them every once in awhile. Also have a two Oppo 105’s and a Wadia transport. Don’t most people have a cd or 4k player 🤷‍♂️
I've still got one in a box in the loft 🙂. When I had a hifi rack everything was on that but since we bought a sofa to replace an armchair the minimum amount of gear is on the TV rack so no turntable and no CD player 🙂

This is quite an active, interesting, and long running thread, with circa 1,800 entries to date.

Many people have made interesting suggestions on "What products you'd like to see WiiM produce";

I'd like to suggest that RyanWithWiim , or someone similar (if that's even possible ? ;)) posts a little questionnaire with a range of possible products (as has been done on occasion), and include on that list a "CD Player / Transport" option (alongside any other general product such as turntables, or FM radios, etc).
We could then get an indicator of how much interest there really is in such an offering.

Keep it bland at this stage - don't pre-qualify the questionnaire by including or excluding features such as an integral DAC / screen/ outputs / USB / ripper / burner / bluetooth / tags / clock / jitter / gapless / colours / size / PSU / DVD + BluRay etc etc.

Don't ask people to explain themselves as to why they might want or need such a device at this stage, just count the votes.

I am, as always, looking forward to your comments. :)

Another thing besides the analog stages and power supply. Obviously more computing power using the Ultra is wonderful. It does have lag though. Software is phenomenal. Sound is great, but it could be faster. Like when I pause music and then it switches to HDMI on its own it takes 6 to 7 seconds also changing tracks there is delay. When I tried a Lumin streamer it was quick with everything. It’s not worth the asking price though.
