What products you'd like to see WiiM produce?

What do passive speakers have to do with WiiM/Linkplay?
This business is mainly about software. The attached hardware is just to show what this can do.
There are a about a trillion manufacturers of passive speakers out there, 10% of which make decent loudspeakers. The market is fully saturated. So there are only two ways to enter this market as a newby. Either with cheap-as-shit fancy stuff or as a supplier of super high-end luxury. And with the latter you REALLY have to deliver, or you‘re dead.
None of this is WiiM. You may call them cheap, this they are. With the electronics they offer this works. With passive speaker this will not work. They are the last analogue domain in HiFi which cannot be conquored by software.
You could say the same about subwoofers.

The question asked was "What products would you like to see based on what you've experienced so far?"
I answered the question, sorry if you didn't like my suggestion. I'm gutted... 😁

Ultra mkII with XLR outputs and a matching vibelink amp with XLR inputs and the option to bridge the amp

Unbalanced over XLR offers no benefit. A fully balanced device will increase the cost substantially. Is your power amplifier fully balanced? Many are not

Its more about convenience, especially for those who has to use longer cables and for some of the potential buyers/users cost is not really important.

I'd like something mini sized with optical in, dont even care about it having an y outputs just want to get optical audio from a wall mounted TV into wiim so it can output from a wiim amp. Will probably buy am powered optical to 3.5 jack to do it but just loads of cables I dont want

Just...
There are preamps that only have that... or only those inputs are available.
Or... if used as a preamp:
Used with active speakers, or perhaps that's the intended use...
or
the desire to place mono amplifiers near the speakers... or reliable and ultimately sometimes less expensive connections from a professional supplier... etc.
Or
a symbol of quality for some... as irrational as VU meters or FFRs, which have no other purpose than visual appeal...

and is therefore... a good selling point for Wiim at a low cost... ;-)

Can someone please explain to me why so many people want XLR in a setup where the pre-amp and amp is in the same rack?

To me XLR only makes sense for microphones and very long studio cables.

More robust terminals, a positive locking system, tougher cables (RCA is known to break off) My power amplifiers are fully balanced XLR, my av pre amp would be unbalanced over XLR.

XLR are the better connector, but ideally you want the device to be fully balanced design...

... I thought of one more idea for the Ultra Sonic-Supremo based on the Roadmap work regarding dual subwoofer calibration:
Dual subwooofer outputs.

Original thoughts below from Roadmap forum; sorry for the redundant, repetitive, reiterative context.

Balanced outputs (go big with nice XLRs);
High-quality, outboard power supply;
Dual ESS chips;
Analog, resistor-ladder volume control, so we don't lose bit depth at lower volumes;
Decoding for Ultra-hi res formats - DSD512, PCM 768kHz, and MQA(?);
Retain Phono in;
Connector for external Wi-Fi antenna;
Appropriately Larger screen (!) ;);
...

And how about that catchy name (Ultra++, Ultra Sonic Supremo, Ultra Pinnacle, Ultra Apex, or Ultra Ultima...)? Sonics first but help me out with a fun name here.
I love all the ideas in the roadmap even though I may not use some. Choice! Sincere thanks, again, to the WiiM team for their dedication, kindness, responsiveness, and patience!!! Brave souls.

Why? There's no reason an internally fully balanced device would perform better. It can be exactly the opposite.

The advantages of a balanced connection (in those rather rare cases where they might be needed) can be fully realised with devices that are internally single-ended. Everything else is a myth.

Sure enough, XLR connectors are superior to RCA connectors mechanically and electrically. They also consume quite a bit of space and - believe it or not - are totally uncommon with home Hi-Fi gear, except for us Internet nerds.
