Wow. Since this thread continues on and I'm new here, I guess I'll post an intro!
I bought my first WiiM product, a WiiM Mini, last month to simply receive AirPlay 2 streams. Today I bought a WiiM Ultra to properly 'DSP and preamp' a stereo with a subwoofer that will be the main music source in a new living space I'm setting up (Music is the early priority now I've built a proper WiFi setup). The WiiM Ultra is upgrading the role initially held by a Fosi ZD3 which lacks the RoomFit/PEQ and the [pending?] BassFit-like functions that I primarily bought the Ultra for.
The first image shows the first 'stereo' of the 'high-value; lower-cost' system I'm aiming for... A pair of Sony CS CM2 bookshelf speakers and a Fosi SW10 subwoofer; the WiiM Ultra supporting an Ampapa D1 (originally bought for its balanced inputs and High Pass Filter - neither used anymore as the Ultra deals best with crossovers and it lacks balanced outputs

). Also an early Apple TV 4K connected to a 27" LG IPS "Smart Monitor" that speaks HDMI CEC and eARC with the WiiM Ultra:
Zooming out, a quick view of the overall space - a high-ceiling room with a loft built of heavy lumber. The table is the "stereo-staging-area" for what will soon go on a deep 8-foot-wide mantle-high shelf to be center-mounted on the wall behind it. The down-firing SW10 subwoofer sits on the concrete floor in the corner. The accoustics seem pretty good, particularly with the WiiM Ultra's accurate crossover settings applied...
The aforementioned Fosi ZD3 moved upstairs to be paired with the
WiiM Mini, a 'matching' Fosi ZA3 amp, and another pair of the Sony CS CM2s that face the sleeping area of the loft/bedroom:
The challenge of using 2 [networked] stereoes in adjecent areas of a larger space is mine! I've noticed that setting the Ultra and Mini up as a Group, linking them, then playing music at/from the Ultra provides a much better sound synchronization than does AirPlay sourced from a HomePod. Sadly, I suspect the WiiM Mini's AirPlay receiver (which has shown some anomolies I'll likely chase down later - like I can't stream directly to the mini from the 1st-gen ATV4K - the ATV doesn't see it, while trying to establish the connection from an iPhone just spins and fails. A HomePod mini playing music CAN AirPlay to the WiiM Mini and the ATV4K simultaneously, but the sync sucks - weird). Since the downstairs subwoofer is directly below the head of the bed upstairs - about the same distance as the main speakers in the loft... this may all work out quite well

.
Anyway, so-far-so-good with the WiiM stuff! I'm running the latest BETA firmware on the Ultra, and now that I'm here in the Forum, I'm sure everything WiiM will sort out well with me).
cheers,
