What's your setup/configuration look like?

Okay, this is it. Not much of a change from previous pics, except the HP table has now moved to its proper location on the right.

I've now completed room correction to my satisfaction, and am more than happy with it.

Pics may take a few moments to appear.

Main set up. Now I'm at a desk, listening in nearfield, but if I sit right up to the desk (as I do when on the PC) I'm too close to the speakers, so I have to move the chair back. Getting the exact position right can be tricky, but in this set up I can just push it back to one of the sofas, so it's very easy to place.

Note the HP desk on the right, and in this shot it's right up to the wall. Also note the sub right into the right hand corner.

WiiM Ultra + IOM Ultra =






Both are supposed to be Space Grey; seems IOM’s paint shop hasn’t achieved a dark enough match yet, but I’ll take it any way. Regardless, the Hypex NC252MP implementation just sounds excellent paired with the WiiM Ultra!

Full stack with my DAC, Geshelli Labs JNOG3 with SparkoS Labs SS2590 op-amps:


The rest of the chain includes the pair of KEF LS50 Metas driven by the IOM Ultra, and then my subwoofer, an SVS SB-3000, which is hooked up to the WiiM Ultra’s subwoofer output by way of a DSPeaker Anti-Mode 8033 Cinema. The Anti-Mode is good that I have ordered an Anti-Mode X2D to upgrade to and use in place of the WiiM’s less advanced room correction.

Unfortunately, the different wall thicknesses of the lid and base plate compared to the Ultra would still not have been fixed; IOM could have paid a little more attention to detail in the design. But that's complaining on a high level. Have fun!

Also have a QED A270 amp or Roksan Blak amp depending on my mood.

new Wiim owner here and really tempted to get ( ore possibly home test) the Z8 . Could you tell shortly if you had it from day one along with the wiim , ore had time to AB test the setup using wiim vs z8 as dac ? if so what did you experience . The passion for sound test of the D90iii Discret confirmed the z8 is the one I'm most keen on testing . Thanks

In current rotation a Pro Plus with the Marantz 2225, an Ultra attached to two Fosi ZA3's mono blocks... Speakers are a pair of Klipsch RP600m II's and a SVS 3000 Micro sub. The Rotels just went out of service so I could experiment with the Fosi's. I really like them by the way. Sound is well defined, especially With the Ultra acting as a preamp. A bit of a change from the warm mellow sound of the Marantz.

Running a WiiM Ultra into an OG Emotiva X A-100 connected to a pair of Triangle BR03s and a Polk PSW1000 (dual 10’s). It sits beneath a 55” tv and has a 30ft headphone extender for my HD650s. System sounds incredible at any volume and is SO convenient for switching between speakers/headphones. Could not be happier.
