An equally valid observation would be that many of us use smart plugs to turn them off.An observation from forums that due to low power consumption and the faff or lack of option to switch off, most do leave theirs on.
Exactly. An equally valid observation would be that many of us use smart plugs to turn them off.
Fair comment - but given the low consumption, is that really worthwhile? An equally valid observation would be that many of us use smart plugs to turn them off.
I use the same smart plug for the WiiM Amp and a subwoofer. The sub doesn't have a standby mode so the combined total is around 13W. It all adds upFair comment - but given the low consumption, is that really worthwhile?
Are you suggesting WiiM owners aren't clued up?All fair comments - I wonder what the less clued up, average person, who invariably leaves chargers on etc does though?
I think that's the beauty of Wiim products is that they cater for folks of all levels of technical expertise and passionAre you suggesting WiiM owners aren't clued up?![]()
Sorry, purely subjective. I would also claim, purely for my own protection and after spending a lot of money on additional DACs, that it sounds much better with theseThe wiim ultra sounds much better with a quality external dac. Doesn't matter if it's through the toslink, coaxle or usb output. I have one going through the Schiit Bifrost (headphone setup), and another going through a Geshelli J2S dac. Both are significant upgrades. Not because they're colored but because they sound better.
My Ultra is constantly scrambling my links with Tidal and Amazon. A fix for that or at least a response to my tickets would be a good start. What is subpar with the WiiM Ultra sound quality from the various digital inputs?
If I was to change anything I'd like better specs on the analog inputs. The ADC is in itself more than good enough, but its implementation could be better.
