Why not add a monitor output

Does that imply that the home app runs on Google tv?
Dunno, but I can play Spotify (among other services) via voice command on an old Google 7" display I have, which will show artwork and metadata on the Google screen and play on the WiiM. Same thing on an Amazon Echo Show. Can Google TV do the same?

I’d doubt it as the first issue I had trying to use it on a fire tv was I couldn’t swipe past the introductory screens as the mobile app is touch driven while a tv app typically needs a remote. Guess that’s why you can’t just drop a mobile version of most apps on to a tv

anyway, we are at fourth page, of this!

the reality is, you want to be roon connect, yes! so no screen! that's it
you made money with music, we made money with tha screen!

mouahahahahahahhahaha!

Rush music, ``we have assume control, we have assume control``

in last ressort, maybe this would help, splitting video and music:

That's because Spotify (as a service) is linked to your Google account.. My Google Nest Hub will show playback status of whatever media that's being cast to the WiiM and has nothing to do with the WiiM itself actually.

Not really following here... And what's the HDMI video/audio splitter have to do with all this? I feel like you're really mixing things up now.

The HDMI splitter makes no sense to me, either. As the WiiM Ultra doesn't output anything via HDMI, how does this help?

FWIW, Amazon now makes a 21" Echo Show, which ought to be big enough. It will display what's playing from many services, with the music routing through your WiiM.

So, with all possible ways to do this presented in this thread (and probably others), what possible incentive does WiiM have to retool everything to add an outdated video jack? For maybe a half dozen customers...

are using google home to see it, on nest? will work with chromecast? video to chromecast and music to wiim?
i am rebooting now, my old apple TV, on one of my monitor, to do some test, but music, just see purchase, now upload of CD, i need to pay streaming services to listen my upload CD?

itunes match, does that still exist?

anyhow, just figure out, to reboot, my ipod classic and i get 8800 songs for the car, enough for me, and if i found au docking, i could send image to monitor!

thanks anyhow, for the google home, with wiim

the splitter is to do test with apple music, but in TV and in Apple TV, if no sound, won't work, same as DVD carousel, it block image if, the sound don't follow the music...!

How do you see that working? If you grouped it with your WiiM in an Alexa MRM group, I can perhaps see it displaying what’s playing for Alexa supported services like Amazon Music, Spotify, TuneIn and Tidal (but only in the USA), but not for Qobuz, Apple Music or other services WiiM devices support like local media servers. Much as I use echo devices, the use of a Show would have been near the bottom of my list in this use case.

Bottom of my list too, which is why I've written so many better ways to do this. Yes, it's limited to Alexa services, though I remember seeing an Alexa service that can be used for playing from your local NAS, as well (not sure it would show the album art). Setting the WiiM as the default speaker for any Echo device is pretty simple, though.

I don't understand why people are so afraid of playing with a simple Raspberry Pi, though. Millions of folks do. They won't bite.

Yeah, the MyMedia skill allowed you to do that, but I’m not sure if that’s still around or supported these days, like a lot of Alexa stuff which I feel Amazon are slowly trying to wind down despite talk of their upcoming chargeable AI Alexa…

well, reboot, an old mac, and install, old itunes version! same with apple TV and Airplay everything to the house and screen! maybe sell my WiiM...?

case closed
For HiFi, listen Lp's and put art cover on wall! for CD, well, put them in itunes!
