WiiM Amp Firmware v5.0.711031 Update - Mar 17, 2025

Anyone know why my Wiim Amp B630 is on firmware 5.0.709965? Setup this new unit on Saturday 15th, updated the firmware over the iOS app and I don't see my firmware version listed anywhere for the Wiim Amp (seems like the Pro has 5.2.709965).

Haven't gotten the latest update either, just wondering what's the difference between 5.0.708757 and my version since I didn't enroll in any beta.

I was also on a different firmware before the latest firmware was released on 17th. Probably the one you have. WiiM released it in this thread then a couple of days later they released v5.0.711031. I don't know why yours hasn't updated again to the latest though. I suspect it will update very soon.

Yeah, my current FW has a build date of 20250306 so it definitely seems like it's an interim between two "broad" or "official" releases.

This is my first Wiim product so I don't know how long they take to push updates, guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Pro firmware starts on 5.2, my Wiim Amp starts on 5.0 (and the packaging/unit don't have any of the Pro markings nor taller feet). Just find it a bit odd having an unlisted firmware version.
Probably best raising a ticket to WiiM thru the more/feedback section in the WiiM home app to get their opinion.

Definitely a good idea to send feedback to WiiM through the WiiM Home app.

In the past, some beta firmware versions have been tied to whitelisted MAC addresses. If someone accidentally reported the wrong MAC address (yours!) to WiiM, this could - at least in theory - explain why your WiiM Amp did receive a non-production firmware.

Isn't it the original firmware released in this thread before the title was changed? I didn't take a screenshot of my last firmware but assume it was the same.

I never took notice of the original title. But the date doesn't quite fit, or does it?

According to your own post, the original version number was 5.0.710745:

Ah yes, well spotted.

Thank you everyone! I’ve raised a feedback ticket through the app and currently awaiting follow up, I’ll update you once everything is cleared up.

QQ: is the getStatusEx API command supposed to show the firmware version? Mine is blank after the FW_Release_version key, but the Firnware key shows Linkplay5.2.709965 (see attached screenshot for reference).

Your device is PCB version 7 and seems similar to this case.

Here's what mine looks like.

Something’s definitely awry then. I’ll look in the other thread as well, thank you for bringing it up.

As far as I know there is no 5.0.709965 FW for Amp. You probably have 5.2.709965 (the latest version) for Amp pro installed on your device.

Please try tapping the Spotify icon in the browse menu and see if you can see the loudness switch. I believe this is not yet implemented in Amp pro.

You might be onto something, because my Spotify plugin only shows “Open Spotify”. I also updated the Home app to 3.1.7 yesterday.

Therefore, I believe your WiiM amp most likely has the same 709965 FW installed as the amp pro.

Just out of curiosity, do you hear a small spike noise when that WiiM amp is on standby on/off? (Perhaps you can hear it on your WiiM amp pro.)

In my opinion, if you hear the noise, your WiiM amp is (essentially) amp pro.

Presumably without PFFB though 🤔
