WiiM Amp Firmware v5.0.739659 Update - Dec 24, 2025

General Improvements:

1. Wi-Fi: Stronger connection stability; improved compatibility with Wi-Fi 7 routers.
2. Queue: Better track order retention in shuffle and faster queue operations across NAS/USB/Samba/Local, TIDAL, Qobuz, Radio Paradise, YouTube, Deezer, and SoundCloud.

Music Services:

1. Qobuz: Stabilized progress bar; fixed shuffle dropouts, playback-mode mismatch, and missing artist/track metadata.
2. Soundtrack: Updated SDK; fixed disconnects when renaming the device during playback.
3. Radio: Resolved failures for certain station formats.

@RyanWithWiiM is this really available for the WiiM Amp? It seems like too much of a coincidence that the exact same firmware version became available for the WiiM Amp Pro on the same day but they received it within a week.

Annnnnd, there’s the new Plex bug. All my music is 100% flac, and on both WiiM Amps it looks like Plex is compressing, probably to Opus. My guess is that this part of the remote Plex server feature that has been in the works. This does’t happen on my Mini, Pro, or Ultra. The funny thing is that I have Plex Remote disabled. All of my songs played from Plex on the WiiM Amp are showing a low bitrate, and are always 16bit/48kHz, even when it’s actually 24bit/96kHz as seen below. Anyone else hitting this? I will file a support case shortly..

Edit: Tidal on the WiiM Amp does play at full resolution (up to 24bit/192kHz) as expected.

Looks like the same bug as was introduced on the Ultra when it got the remote feature too. Raise a ticket
