In Ponad initially it was called "płyta" which stands for "plate". Then the CDs came, so they have been called "płyta komptaktowa", but everybody called it "C-D" or "kompakt". And analog records have been renamed to "płyta winylowa", now shortened to "winyl".

In Denmark it was called LP, for Long Playing. Today they are called Vinyl.

In the UK, we tend to call them Records, but many of the younger generations seem to prefer to call them vinyl for some obscure reason.

They will be calling cassettes "ferrous" next.

Goodness knows what they call CD's "aluminium splattered plastic" perhaps, and streaming maybe "bits"

Yes. Unfortunately WiiM don't document everything and leaves out important information from the specifications.

So it's good we have this forum with people that know what the WiiM devices actually can do.

I already wrote about it in another thread. Unfortunately, the new Ultra Amp doesn't have a headphone output. Why? I listen a lot with headphones, as I'm sure many others do. Therefore, this device is unusable for me. It's a shame.Please excuse my poor English. I'm using Google Translate here.

I know I will be shot down here, but I have been using my headphones on the Amp Ultra, connected to the USB using a UGREEN USB to 3.5mm Jack audio adapter external sound card USB DAC, which cost me £9.99 on Amazon. As I live in a flat, this is great for late-night listening to music and films. Maybe it's me, but the above picture never made me feel that you could connect a turntable or headphones as simply as on the Ultra.
