WiiM Amp

Where do you have the information from regarding USB out?
The wiim amp will get firmware update that can turn usb input to output. I’m pretty sure there will be setting on wiim app how would you want to use usb or automatic detection.

Hi x86,

There's no need to manually turn on the amp with the remote each time. It automatically enters an idle mode to conserve power, remaining visible on the network for convenient streaming via AirPlay or the WiiM Home App.
perfect. thanks, ordering now from Amazon UK then

I just got the Amp from Wiim Audio Germany but it unfortunately has also a slight coil whining noise in standby mode.
@WiiM Support is there any serialnumber or similar where it is possible to identify the "fixed" version?

Other than that this is the perfect amp (with the upcoming features in January ;) )

Any photos of the amp innards? Hopefully someone adventurous would open one up to show its inner beauty.

Pretty happy with my amp, will be more so when the new firmware reduces the standby power consumption. One thing I am almost happy with is the usb media library, its great to have an all in one unit that is not reliant on external media libraries. At the moment I have a usb drive that is working ok, tried an ssd drive worked and then did not so I assume it tries to draw more current and shuts down. Hopefully the guys at Wiim will build on the usb media facility.

Hi @WiiM Support , when room correction appears on WiiM products, will that effectively use up all of the PEQ functionality, or will we have room correction and PEQ?

Please and thank you.

Thanks, x86. Looking forward to hearing about your experience once you receive it. Enjoy your new purchase!
just to report that I have received my Amp today and I am happy with it and no humming sound (ordered yesterday late evening from Amazon UK stock) in case it helps people from UK here, looks like the bad batch is behind us

Since I’m off today, I’m tinkering my wiim amp and see what this unit can do. So, I connect a subwoofer and see what’s the fuss about. I used Yamaha receiver in 2.1 configuration but I wasn’t happy because my ear can detect improper integration either there was a hole or overlapping. The adjustment on crossover selection is limited whereas wiim can be adjusted by incremental by 1 hz. I got this dialed in where the 3db down on woofer plus 10 hz. It’s seemless integration now that I never accomplish on av receiver. The distance setting on av receiver also ruining the stereo image. Wiim simple and straight setting is all it’s needed even for my nit picking and most discriminating ear. Thanks wiim!

Iv'e been playing with the Amp today, I am using it in my small relax room.
I have decided to order a pair of compact Wharfedale 9.0 to try as I am not sure about the Missions I am using.
The Mission 70's have sat in the Attic for 20 years and sound surprisingly good but I think it could sound better.....

Haha, my next tinkering would be what would room correction would do to my system. Will my enjoyment on music take it to new height? I can’t wait what this feature can do. I don’t know any company even high end can do what wiim does to us. The secret sauce is not alwaysthe hardware but the software that makes the hardware works with just firmware update. I think by end of 2024 and next wiim would revolutionize their product beyond our imagination. Name streamer can do room correction at affordable price?

Good choice, i have a pair of warfedale 9.0 in the house that have been doing service for years. Sound great and still going strong.

Currently playing my Amp through Mission 790's and an Eltax sub woofer - although a few years old they sound really good.

I do think you are short-changing your Amp with the Diamond 9.0 though, unless space (or budget) really is at a premium. - I'd be looking at the 9.1 which aren't much more expensive or even the 12.1 (which admittedly are a lot more).

Agree, I've been playing too. Using the subwoofer configuration in the Home app I have achieved very good integration of my sub and main speakers.

App question:
I use Amazon Music and 9 Echo devices. I like the WiiM Home App and how responsive and straight forward it is.
I'd like to use it more and wonder is there a way to initiate Amazon Multi-Room Music through the WiiM App?
