WiiM Home Apple TV v1.003 Update – May 30, 2025

Please review the Apple TV app update release notes below. If you encounter any issues, feel free to reach out to us.

Apple TV App Release Version
v1.003

What's New:

1. Player UI Enhancements: Added music service logs and the sample rate of the currently playing track.
2. Device UI Enhancements: Improved device UI for better display and usability.

NIGHT MODE?

The recent fixes have resolved most (albeit minor) issues from the first version, and the app is now working excellently – great job! For me, this app is a very useful addition to the WiiM ecosystem – I use it frequently, especially during late night listening sessions.

And here comes a suggestion for a relatively easy-to-implement but important ergonomic improvement – adding a Night Mode to the Display Modes (currently: Color and Blur), which would introduce the following changes:
a) black background,
b) reduced screen brightness (ideally: user-selectable brightness),
c) ideally: the ability to choose the screen’s tint/color (at a minimum: the color of menu elements – I would choose red), AND / OR: an option to completely hide the album cover.

This would allow users to configure the display so that the TV screen remains visible at night, but as dim as possible, with minimal brightness fluctuations. I’ve worked around this by creating a special display profile on my TV (very low brightness and contrast, red color shift), but it’s not an ideal solution – it works fine with dark album covers, but with brighter ones, the TV lights up significantly, which becomes distracting at night.
If WiiM could find the time to implement such changes in one of the upcoming versions, it would be invaluable to me.

It's now 10 days since this was released and I still don't have it, I'm still stuck on v1.002 even after deleting it then reinstalling! How do I get v1.003 onto my Apple-TV?

Hi bobertuk,

You can install the latest version v1.003 app directly from the App Store.

Hi @DariuszP ,

Thanks very much for your nice suggestion. Our team will provide a new playback mode for night mode.
