Of course, I read it. I'll say more, I installed it on my TV and this app does nothing but switch tracks and change the background. So what's the point?!
It's not that hard: You can see what's playing on WiiM devices on big screens using a TV that has access to the Android Play Store.

People have been asking for this feature forever!

Let's say I want to use any of the streamers or amps to stream music, but I don't particularly want to fetch my phone. So I use one of the 4 presets on the remote to start a playlist. Now, the problem is that when I switch songs I have no idea what is playing. Perhaps if I had a screen to look at it would be easier?

(This also makes it a whole lot more interesting for my parents, who have poor eyes, but want to know what is playing)

With further updates you can also get more information or settings in the app.

Indeed. As I said in my link, the requirement for the WiiM TV apps likely arose on the back of the many comments made about the HDMI connection on the WiiM Amps and Ultra not outputting video to an attached TV. WiiM have addressed these comments by producing WiiM Home TV apps for three platforms in quick succession that offer a wireless Now Playing screen on TVs that can even show what’s playing on the WiiM Mini as well as the rest of the range. Need more be said?

With the coloured backgrounds, the white text can become almost illegible (especially white on yellow).

There should be a solid grey/black background screen as an option.
Like we've been asking for so long for the Ultra as well 🥲

Would be nice especially on OLED TV's
