We're thrilled to announce that the WiiM Home TV app is now available for Fire TV! You can seeing what's playing on WiiM devices on big screens using an Amazon Fire TV. The WiiM Home TV app has basic playback controls and browsing, though it's not a full replacement for a mobile device.

Download the WiiM Home TV app today and elevate your home entertainment! Get it here: WiiM Home TV for Fire TV

Is there any plan to enable us to actually browse our libraries (e.g. on a NAS)? Seems like it would be a relatively easy thing to implement.

(I love the idea of not having to use my mobile phone when listening to music. Indeed, one of the joys of listening to music is to take a break from your phone and ne f the reasons I still listen to vinyl records - so I can leave the phone in another room!)

Just got round to trying this on my Fire TV Cube with Lyrion/LMS. Generally works very well but two comments -

1. Lyrics are frequently out of sync. They aren’t the ones coming from the Lyrion MAI plugin so where are they being downloaded from?

2. The source logo at top left and WiiM logo at top right will cause burn in on certain TVs. Why not swap them over every x seconds or fade them in and out?

If I have WiiMs attention the logo you are using for Lyrion/LMS is way out of date. Please use the new one on this and elsewhere in the WHA and in your feature advertising. Contact me if you need graphics.

Thanks for the flag! I'll let our partner manager know.

I had forgotten that my Echo Show 15 has a fire tv interface that I never use as it sits underneath my Samsung Frame TV fed by my fire tv cube.

Prompted by a query from @castalla in another thread that it’d be great if the Echo Show had an Alexa skill to show what’s playing, I found I could install the WiiM Home TV app for fire tv on my Show 15 fire tv interface and it appears to work very well.

Unfortunately I think the Show 15 and 21 are the only devices that have this fire tv feature, but rather than sit and do not a great deal, my Show 15 has another lease of life…

I’d also forgotten that I could pair a fire tv remote with the show 15 fire tv interface. If integrate that into a harmony hub activity, I may be able to use the WiiM tv app on the Show as a bridge to control my WiiM devices from my harmony remote that I use to control all my other devices, plus have the artwork and lyrics on a nice 15” screen that otherwise would be full of pointless adverts from Alexa…

Time to head off and play around a bit :)

Prompted by this I have just discovered that the Echo Show has a browser and can control and display Material skin for Lyrion 🙂

Isn’t there a problem with that though that it times out after a while? I think only a handful of screens, like YouTube or BBC perhaps, can maintain the browser open.

Another thought, the WiiM tv apps might give an entry point for universal remote controls - if such can control your Apple/google/fire tv, then it indirectly controls your WiiM devices.

Now if WiiM could add presets to the WiiM tv app (or change inputs at a push), then maybe you could in effect incorporate the WiiM remote functions into the app and hence the universal remote by navigating the tv app screen…

Doesn't seem to. Also when I close the browser and reopen it later it remembers the Material skin URL. You can also make a bookmark for Lyrion. Mine is a first generation Show and it lists "Silk" and "Firefox" browsers but only Silk appears to work.
Give it a try. Start my saying "Alexa open silk". Saying "Alexa open browser" doesn't work.

Yes, I am thinking similarly and will buy this learning remote once the presets are added to the WiiM TV app.

I know I can control FireTV with this remote, so I'm going to see what can do with the SwitchBot hub and Alexa.

But there's no way to hide the top navigation bar.... Afaik
