We're thrilled to announce that the WiiM Home TV app is now available for Fire TV! You can seeing what's playing on WiiM devices on big screens using an Amazon Fire TV. The WiiM Home TV app has basic playback controls and browsing, though it's not a full replacement for a mobile device.

...by the way, how is it that the Fire TV Wiim Home TV APP has lyrics support while in my Android Phone the Wiim Home app has not?
I guess in part given users asked for it on the large tv screen but few have done so for the app. If you want such, I suggest taking the usual route of submitting a feature request ticket thru the more/feedback section in the WiiM home app - that way WiiM can gauge the level of interest and allocate development resources accordingly.

I got installed the app (ver 1.6) and the lyrics worked fine. But all of a sudden since last night (CET) it always stuck searching lyrics and not found no matter the song. Are you experiencing the same?
In those instances, I find closing out from the app and then reloading the WiiM app will see the lyrics back.

This worked even while playing. I would close out and then reload the WiiM app on Fire TV and then everything is back fine.

People say they want a bigger album screen on a WiiM device like the Ultra. Well, I'm using the WiiM Pro and now run the WiiM app for Fire TV on a 42" Pioneer Plasma.

All good.

Hello
I find that for instrumental songs the NO LYRICS YET stays on screen forever in the center. Even after the on screen shortcuts are removed after some seconds to allow maximization. Displacingn the album chart to left side for nothing... this is clearly improvable. Setting Lyrics off does produce a more pleasant display but then for vocal songs I have to set back the setting back ON if I want to see. I suggest that if no lyrics are found the message is shown just few seconds and album chart takes the center as when lyrics off is selected.1000100690.jpg

I agree this would be a great idea.

Is it appropriate to raise a ticket in the Wiim Home app to suggest this seeing as it's not device related?

Question about the WiiM tv app. Does the app turn on automatically if you start a song from WiiM ultra that is connected to the tv or do you have to do it manually?

It must be launched manually.

If your remote has a shortcut button, you can assign the WiiM TV app to it to launch it. On Android TV, there are also apps that allow you to create shortcuts.

Okay thanks for the info. That is not optimal but there are good Fire TV stick offers on Black Friday so I’ll give it a go.

Connection to a tv doesn’t really come into it with the WiiM home tv app - it’ll show what’s playing on any of your WiiM devices no matter whether they are physically connected to the tv or not.

If you buy the Fire TV Remote Pro alongside it, you can open WiiM TV using the shortcut button.🙂
Well, it might not be all that necessary, mind..
