Yes, it is. Let me give you a bit of a background with this issue.
It worked fine when the feature went live from Wiim with my wiim ultra. And then about a month ago it stopped working without making any changes to the settings or situations. I tried everything resetting the ultra, rebooting the ultra, reselecting the Ultra in the app and nothing worked. I even opened a support ticket they also suggested the steps which I already did many times over. And about a week ago I just tried to reboot my ultra it worked as it worked before.. I was happy. Two days later which is about a week ago it stopped working again and since then it's not working.
Wiim and the tv are on the same network. Today also I tried rebooting and also uninstalling and reinstalling the app from the tv even it still doesn't work. On my phone wiim home app is able to detect the ultra but not on the tv wiim home app..

Any idea what could be wrong?

Nope, I have had no trouble at all with the app on a Google TV Streamer 4K (latest 2024 model). Sometimes the lyrics are a little slow to load, but other than that no issues at all.

My Wiim home app does not detect the wiim ultra anymore. Nothing had changed in my settings and situation but still not working. I just get this error message on the screen.
Unfortunately I don't know the cause, but one question I would like to ask.

When you start the WiiM TV app, do you first see the 'WiiM' logo, followed by the error screen? Or is the error screen the first thing that appears when you start the app?

I have not seen that error screen.

Well it always tried to connect and then came the error message. But now for some reason it is working. But I am not going to be very excited as it did this before. It worked for a few days and then it stopped.

But for now it works. I will let you know when it stops again. 😊

I have been looking for reviews of the WiiM Home TV App and finds that there only a few out there. None of the WiiM reviews I have read even mentioned it.

In all the TV App reviews I have read the author has completely misunderstood how it works and some are even assuming that it works over HDMI. Why do the audio "experts" have so little technical knowledge?

I think it would benefit @wiim sales and the users if there were more focus on this feature and with a simplified description of how it works over the local network (just like the WiiM Home App) and that it works for all WiiM devices.

The TV App is not even shown or mentioned on the WiiM Home pages.

Yeah, I constantly have to (re)state that over on the Facebook group, Reddit etc.

Re audio “experts”, I was amazed in Darko’s recent podcast where he chats with some older guy in the USA that he didn’t know whether Deezer had a Connect mechanism - it does, but it’s not casting, more remote control of another app instance. Maybe these guys work at a different level, but that sort of info isn’t hard to find out…

Because they aren't experts at all. Even the mainstream old guard media publications had relatively few expert reviewers with regard to technical knowledge, but todays "experts" and the reviews I think you are referring to (video reviews) are not experts at anything except producing click bait on YouTube for today's lazy instant gratification crowd who really can't be bothered with many details either, so the "reviewer" doesn't even try to do an informative deep dive that provides complete details. The assumption of the TV app working over HDMI is just one example of that sort of thing.
