The main use case I'm thinking is to power a centre speaker in a 5.1 setup. Nothing fancy, just a stripped back high quality powerful amp to complement the amp ultra in this setup. The aim would be to make the wiim 5.1 setup a legitimate, cost effective alternative to traditional AVRs.

Current alternatives are to use a wiim sound, but I think it's better to have the same series of speakers at the front to maintain tonality. You could use a second wiim amp, but this feels like overkill as you can't bridge the two channels to make a mono so one channel is wasted along with many of the other features making this an overly expensive setup. The third is to use a wiim Pro plus and a third party mono amp, but this just gets messy and complicated.

There may be other niche use cases, such as powering surrounds individually rather than running wires. Currently I have a wiim amp connected to a single polk atrium 6 on my patio which works well because you can use both channels with the polk 6 but there are still many features in the wiim amp I'm not using. It would have been more cost effective to buy a wiim Pro and a 3rd party amp but I wanted to keeping all integrated and tidy instead soni went fo

Somehow hit post accidentally. I went for the wiim amp to keep things simple. The other alternatives would be to go full AVR with a 3.1 or 5.1 setup.

You should be able to edit your posts for an hour or so, but that 2nd post helped clear things up for me.

Oh, and Welcome!

Ok good to know, I didn't see an edit option.

Also to add, i prefer the idea of a modular setup to a pure 5.1 AVR. Just gives more flexibility and maintains the pure stereo ethos of the wiim amps.
