WiiM Pro Firmware v4.8.726839 Update - Aug 20, 2025

Please review the WiiM Pro update release notes below. If you encounter any issues, feel free to reach out to us. This firmware update is being rolled out in stages, with devices updating sequentially over the next few days.

4.8.726839 (Latest)

Release date:

8 / 20 / 2025

Bug Fix:
  1. No Bass Audio: Fixed an issue that caused bass audio not to output.

I am just wondering how the firmware could be released with this error in the first place? It looks like there are no regression testing done before releasing new versions? I would prefer some longer intervals between the releases and then a better internal testing. It should not be the customers that perform the tests and discover issues like the missing bas.

Any way, thanks for a fast response to the problem.

not to mention the #$$#%@# RoomFit recent upgrade that was in beta testing for months, and actually reduced functionality for users that use specific EQ settings per preset. and going back? not possible

Those damn unassigned variables again! 😜🤣

If you followed the instructions you could just have made a copy of your profiles before updating. So I don't see this as a missing test by WiiM.

You can still have specific EQ settings per preset, or are you complaining about the fact that smart presets haven’t yet been enhanced to allow the new separate Roomfit profile feature?

how exactly making a copy of my EQ profiles help with the reduced functionality ? and what if I want to run Room Correction again and assign its measurements / settings to a specific preset? not possible

Who knows? It should have been found by WiiM before releasing anyway.

Or if they want customers to do the testing, then release to limited number of people that have agreed to do the tests.

I know you cannot test everything but before releasing to thousands of customers @WiiM Team could do better.

Yes. you can call it complaining, i call it reduced functionality (for me) compared to previous firmware.
JUST TO BE CLEAR
I used to be able to click a button on the remote and get a specific EQ settings. that allowed me to compare on the fly "with / without RC" sound stage.
Now? If I run RoomFit again (to basically get the Room Correction functionality), I have to manually copy its settings to a new EQ profile, in order to have that profile assigned to a specific preset. very annoying.

Have you submitted a feature request ticket asking that roomfit profiles be added to smart presets?

In the interim, while it may be inconvenient, you can always manually copy the Roomfit values into a custom peq set and use those in smart presets.

my experience with any requests so far is not good. I reported several times the DLNA streaming issue when switching source, and gor various excuses to why it happens.
EDIT:I opened a ticket anyway
#540263 RoomFit profile assignment to specfic preset

I don't see why you should be able to select RoomFit profiles via Preset.

While finding the optimal profile for your speakers and room, you will use the WiiM Home App and you can easily check the different profiles from there. When you have found the best match for your room that should just be the one used all the time.

To then shape the sound for different music types etc. use the EQ/PEQ that can be assigned to the Preset.

Only issue I see currently is if you have different outputs, like speakers and headphones. The RoomFit profile should follow the output type and WiiM has already said that that will be implemented soon.

that's not much of a argument. I explained how i used Room Correction before the upgrade. and right now for me, it's a downgrade
Just saying I think you used it wrongly then.

I understand that sometimes changes don't fit our current use cases but it is often because we use the functions in a way they were not meant to.

Some user may want to use several different roomFit profiles for different listening positions or number of Listeners.

I would like to use dedicated profile when I use the walking machine in my room 😂

The updated RoomFit just blew my hair back. Was waiting for it but when I just started playing the system, the improvement in clarity, detail and soundstage was a big improvement. Used my existing saved setting. Superb!

My full range system features monoblock tube amps, RME ADI-2 DAC from a WiiM Pro, upgraded Schiit Saga pre using the Qobuz Connect feature. YMMV

Thanks very much to all the folks at WiiM!

What was updated in Roomfit? The latest firmware just relocated the profiles away from PEQ into Roomfit.
