WiiM Pro Firmware v4.8.726839 Update - Aug 20, 2025

Please review the WiiM Pro update release notes below. If you encounter any issues, feel free to reach out to us. This firmware update is being rolled out in stages, with devices updating sequentially over the next few days.

4.8.726839 (Latest)

Release date:

8 / 20 / 2025

Bug Fix:
  1. No Bass Audio: Fixed an issue that caused bass audio not to output.

But we should still preserve the ability to switch both RoomFit and EQ profiles with the Smart Preset function!

I believe with a little planning, design work and care this could all be made to be very user-friendly and seamless - but it could also end up a complicated mess! 😬 I hope for the best, though! :giggle:
i read your post several times and some things don't make sense to me (you mix "previous implementation" with "RoomFit" , while previously there was no such thing as "RoomFit" - it was called "Room Correction" ) - but i think we can sum it up in:

1. both "RoomFit" / "Room Correction" and EQ on top can be implemented together properly, if only there was an option to switch easily between different EQ settings (call it what you want) that were created by Room Correction/RoomFit - that was very possible with PRESETS and is not possible anymore. not to mention the latest remote update, easily enabled switching between 8 presets using the remote (double clicking a button).
2. the "little planning & design work" you mention, should have been done through the many months this feature was in beta testing - IMHO

Well that is not 100% correct - on my devices (Amp Pro, Amp Ultra and Mini) "Room Correction" was already renamed to "RoomFit" in the WiiM Home App before it was separated from EQ (which came with a device FW update).

This is why I refer to "previous implementation" rather than "Room Correction". But in any case, it is just a name - the underlying functionality has been evolving for quite a while, regardless of the name used.

Yes, I agree. Switching both EQ and RoomFit profiles with smart presets doesn't require reverting to the previous implementation of RoomFit / Room Correction, but it would require additional development of smart presets.

It should have been done long before that even - I do hope it was, but we simply don't know.

That’s still the same as far as I can see - what you can’t do yet is change Roomfit profile in a smart preset, but you certainly can change EQ/PEQ viz .

If the beta testing had been extended beyond Ultra owners there would have been a lot more feedback 🤷‍♂️

seriously, in order to change between RoomFit profiles I need to
unlock my phone
enter the WiiM app
go into the device i'm listening to settings
go into RoomFit settings
change EQ profile
BEFORE:
click a button on the remote

honestly, stop looking for "use case workarounds" and how "you're not getting this update right" -
this "upgrade" should not have been released the way it did. to the point where WiiM support team asks me if I want to downgrade my device

Perhaps if you were clearer in what you initially said you couldn’t do (“if only there was an option to switch easily between different EQ settings”) and read my response where I says you can change EQ settings in a preset but not yet roomfit profiles, there would have been less confusion. At least your most recent response was less ambiguous. I do agree that the ability to change roomfit profiles should be possible in smart presets and have already submitted a feature request ticket for it, but I guess a lot of people will have just one roomfit profile so WiiM decided to release the update as is rather than delay it any further while it added that further feature.

Not sure why I'm tagged in this response since I agree with you that it would make sense to (still) be able to change RoomFit profiles with smart presets (and consequently with a remote control).

At the same time I also believe the new implementation of RoomFit makes much more sense from a functional perspective - even if it is still lacking some functionality. Smart preset support is not the only thing that is missing, IMO!

my bad - i meant to tag burnside

Copy of RoomFit profiles to PEQ and the association of a RoomFit profile with an output (auto shift, as we have for EQ on input) should be coming soon according to WiiM Support.

I haven't seen anything from Support regarding Preset yet.

Will copying also be available the other way? At the moment any Room Correction profiles entered manually from REW can't be transferred to RoomFit.

That is a good thing. However, unfortunately it is not a solution for users who have several RoomFit profiles and want to use EQ at the same time.

You can implement loudspeaker response correction (based on e.g. spinorama.org anechoic data) and run RoomFit on top of it.
This was my main point of interest and I'm not sure it's actually working.
I simply didn't have the time to try and test if EQ is automatically disabled before performing a RoomFit run. I would not want that, obviously.

I did another RoomFit run yesterday after the new firmware update for my Amp Ultra and the set EQ was automatically disabled for it.
