WiiM Pro with Fosi BT20A query

I can't find the remote in the accessories section of the current catalog, but if it is standard with the remote, would be happy. 😄
(WiiM's product catalog may be out of date and not updated.)

@WiiM Support , @RyanWithWiim,

Can you confirm if current Pro comes with a remote?
Sorry for the delay! The conversation moved way past this, but I can confirm that the current WiiM Pro does not come with a remote.

CD > optical > Pro+ > RCA > amp
Thank you for your reply. Yes, this is how the connections would be with a WiiM Pro or WiiM Pro Plus. So in your opinion, connecting in this way with the WiiM Pro Plus would result in the same or better CD sound quality as I have with a direct connection to the amp, and WiFi streaming would also be a better sound quality than the current direct Bluetooth streaming with the amp. Am I understanding this correctly?

If I can reply as well / instead...
imo yes, the pro plus would be a very capable streamer and dac for your cd player to use the pro plus's rca analog output into pretty much whatever amp / speakers you might decide to use now or later.

You might find that you are plenty happy with a wiim pro and it may well suit your budget better, but only trying / comparing can give you that final confirmation for you to be comfortable with your choice.
As you are often asking about 'better sound quality' then if you can stretch to a pro plus I feel that you'd not have to worry about that part of your system or whether it was a bottleneck. Naturally, we all want the best we can get within our price range!
As @Wiimer suggested, the amp itself may be a limiting factor at this stage,

Finally, some hi fi stores sell wiim - maybe you can find one near where you live to try?
But do it fast while the prices are low, or wait for the next sale.

If I can reply as well
Of course, and thank you for taking the time to do so.

I understand now that I need at least a WiiM Pro Plus, and I also understand the limitations of the BT20A Amp. Obviously that may be upgraded later to an amp with a digital input, which will improve my setup further.

I have not listened to your current configuration, and judging the perceived auditory effects of various audio components is a fraught topic, but the digital to analog converter (DAC) in the WiiM Pro Plus is very highly regarded, with some fundamental components that are considered at or near state of the art. I would guess that you either couldn't hear a difference in the CD player, or it would likely sound better.
As for WiFi streams direct through the Pro Plus -- this is arguably the primary purpose that it was built for, and you will objectively have a much higher quality digital signal via WiFi streaming than by any Bluetooth stream.

No need for additional digital to analog conversion in the amp. You're already converting all signals with the excellent hardware in the Pro Plus.

Thank you for clarifying this. As I mentioned above, I have come to the realisation that the WiiM entry point for my setup is a Pro Plus, and I am currently exploring my options to secure one. That way, if I upgrade my Amp to one with a digital optical or coaxial input, I will improve the quality further.

Not quite accurate.
1. WiiM entry point is really WiiM mini, followed by the WiiM Pro. Pro Plus is at the top of the sound quality tiers with the Ultra.
2. Digital conversion in the amp is likely not an upgrade, as the Pro Plus is already very very good at this part.

Yes, I understand that. But for my particular setup I was advised that the Mini and Pro will not give me any sound quality improvement over what I have currently, given the connection options available, particularly with the Mini. I was recommended to start with the WiiM Pro Plus.

Yes, and no...

Yes, imo the pro plus would basically future-proof you for anything else you wanted to do with your system and not be a cause of sound degradation / loss of quality.

No, many seem happy with their minis' and pros' analog outs, but others, including me, believe the pro plus (in my case/experience the somewhat comparable ultra) is a significant improvement over a pro for analog output.
We can't make that judgement for you in your current setup, but you have indicated that you may change other parts later. For me then, that little extra outlay now could be money well spent.

As always, your money, your choice. What I call a little extra outlay may be a much more significant outlay for you.
We are just strangers suggesting that if you can afford it a pro plus would be the better option for a still reasonable sum.

But in the meantime, put on some music and enjoy!
